use several types of 'dating' apps, like Tindr, okcupid, POF. I'm decent looking 7/10-ish and I actually get non-bot matches on Tindr, about 220 so far, but not a single one of them has messaged me back. I've tried everything from the usual, hey whats up, to writing a fucking essay about the one sentence they felt obliged to write about them liking to hang out with friends and enjoying other basic human needs. Ditto for the other sites. What gives? I figure I should have at least gotten one to reply by accident now, statistically speaking.
Your photos may be horrendous.
Your writing may be horrendous.
We need to see samples to be of help.

Say something about food, trivia, or things you like to do, but make it something that asks for a reply (it doesn't need to be a question to warrant a reply)
>>16560886
My photos are fine or I wouldnt be getting matches.
as for a sample of what I'm writing see below:
I've tried a variety of compliments, short and long greetings.
Hey, have anything fun planned this weekend? I'm [insert name here].
Hey, hows it going?
Hey I noticed from your profile that you like hiking, have you ever been to [insert location that I've gone hiking]?
Hey good looking, what you got cooking?
etc.
What she just sent me killed me.
Its my gf. We've had a rough patch of arguments and whatnot. But the love we have for each other is powerful. I love this girl more than anything, and when she tells me I "scare" her with the things I say when arguing......I feel dead inside. Like i don't deserve her.
>>16560833
What do you say that scares her?
>>16560833
This doesn't seem so bad.

Is 22-23 too late to go to college whilst still not knowing what you want to go to school for?
Nope.
If you have the money colleges will literally not care.
>>16560669
Any age is a bad age to go to college if you don't know why you're going.
Am I a c uck if I want to get back together with a girl who cheated on me?
No, you are a glutton for punishment.
>>16560662
you should kill yourself while youre at it

I bought a 75 gallon fish tank.
What fish should I put in it that'll impress a girl?
The fruitiest colored ones. Tropical faggot fish.

32-year-old woman here. How bad is the dating game for me? Also, what are my chances of finding someone for a long-term relationship?
>>16560559
depends on many factors
>>16560559
dunno
You must date older guys. 32 year old males are going for younger women.
Use the formula: [(your age) minus seven] times two equals the maximum age of the guys you date.
(32-7)*2=50
So anybody way under 51 is a catch.
Plenty of people regret breaking up with someone, saying something stupid, picking a certain major, changing jobs, moving to a new area, not seizing the opportunity to do something, etc.
How do we know we won't regret a decision in the future? Also, is it true that we regret things we didn't do more than things we did?
When you choose not to make a decision, you're making a decision. There's always going to be a 'what if' no matter what you do, so why dwell on it?
>>16560470
>There's always going to be a 'what if' no matter what you do, so why dwell on it?
Sorry I didn't get what you are trying to say. (My English is bad)
>>16560475
This is probably better explained through an example. Let's say you choose to not to break up with someone because you think "what if I make a mistake in breaking up with them?". If you stay, there's always a chance that you'll end up thinking "what would my life have been like if I had broken up with this person?". Your life is a series of decisions, and there's no way you can find out what your life would be like if you had chosen every single option, so there's no point in sitting and wondering what life would have been like if you had done things differently. You can't change the past.
I cant get over my underage crush who lives next door. She probably sees me as a creep, her parents too.
It's so frustrating that it will never be, and that she is so close to me and will be for many years i bet.
Fuck man i just came back from buying a coke and she came back with there parents from a party or something, thee three of them saw me and went inside. I have been crushing on her for nearly a year, this sucks so bad.
I feel so bad i just wanted to bent...
Move.
Do you even know her?
Get out and meet people.
>>16560450
>underage crush
>probably sees me as a creep
Jesus Christ
also is that her in the picture? if so don't do that
My girlfriend just confessed me that she watches porn.
We are on a long distance relationship and we always get horny and skype or swap pics or videos, even though we travel to see each other very regularly. This week i tried to turn her up through conversation and suggestive pics but she was indemiferent. Today we were chatting and she told me she watched por these last days. I never watched porn since we started getting horny through chat and pictures, niether did her since these last days.
Is she bored with me? Is thay i cant turn her on anymore?
I felt really awkward when she told me this
I meant "indiferent".
I feel like bad because she goes to watch porn instead of us doing our usual
Are you telling me YOU don't watch porn?
>>16560402
Better that she watches porn than cheat on you.
Yesterday I went to a gay club, I usually go there to pick up girls, but this time I got super drunk and kissed a guy.
The problem is that everybody think that I'm straight, and there was people from my college in the club. They saw what I did and my reputation in my college is in risk.
What should I do when the girls that i'm hitting on come to talk to me about that? Should I lie about what happened? If they think I'm gay, they'll probably don't like me anymore.
Sorry about the poor English.
>college
>reputation
Lol.
You go to college to learn you twit, not care about something so trivial. Christ I am disgusted by this post.
>>16560394
He did learn he went too college and found out he's gay
So /adv/, did your parents ever notice that you were depressed?
My father recently found my copy of "Anxiety and Depression for Dummies" and asked if I still felt that way and seemed shocked that I was depressed. Really I see no way how you can live with someone and not notice.
>>16560346
How old are you? They might have just chalked it up to a phase, and I don't think it's uncommon for parents to do that
What advice do you want, anyway?
>>16560346
My parents would notice when I was sad and mopey but never thought that it was more than just an isolated event.
And when they asked and I would respond with "I'm okay", it never really went further than that. I don't blame them but I do feel as though it was fairly obvious.
Even today I feel as though they don't entirely know me. Or even slightly. It sounds cliched and cringey but it's the best way I can explain it. I'm 20 nearly 21.
>>16560349
I`m 19 right now and I know that teenage angst is a large part of everyone`s life during their formative years but I felt like killing myself every day for 5 years and it shocked my father and surprised my sister.
If your looking to give advice then can you advise me on how to live with people that you just don`t trust or want to be around anymore?
QUICK, I NEED HELP
I have a seven paragraph formal essay on The Great Gatsby due on Monday and I hit a writing block when I only need one more argument. I'm trying to argue how the themes of The Great Gatsby relate to our modern modern. I already covered the themes of
>persona
>the american dream/hope
>materialism
>celebrity worship/idolization
I'm sooooo close to being finished but my mind just went stupid.
>>16560300
It's a high school essay. Just split a paragraph in half and you're done.
>>16560310
He's right you know.
>>16560310
I didn't think of that. HOLY SHIT. I CAN ACTUALLY DO THAT
In this godless world how does one find the inspiration for morals and discipline?
I always find myself falling astray from trying to live a normal life.
National Socialism/Fascism.
Have some lines in the sand, just don't flaunt them. We are only human so anyone can make a mistake.
You don't do something because god told you to, you do it because it is the kind, just, honest, and/or smart thing to do.
>went to bowling thing for a work holiday party
>get put on team with really qt girl
>find out she's into writing (I'm a writer too)
>she kicks my ass at bowling, our team makes it to 2nd place
>we woulda won if I didnt get a few gutter balls
Anyways...she doesn't work in the same department as me at my job. Should I ask her out over the company messaging system? She seems very cool...also, she is taller than me and incredibly, intimidatingly pretty. I kind of want to ask her out and get it over with, be that she rejects me or says yes.
Should I message her, ask her how she's doing and say, "You were incredible with those strikes! Maybe I can make up for those gutter balls I got by buying you some coffee some time?" That sound good? Any other ideas?
>>16560210
Yup, sounds about standard.
Also that picture is incredibly depressing.
No. You have to ask her out in person. Ask to talk to her privately via company email and then ask her out in person.
>>16560224
She works morning to afternoon, and I afternoon to night shift, and there is no reason for either one of us to go into the other person's department of the company. She takes a lunch break, I take a dinner break. I would do this, but truthfully it is not possible at my company, so not sure if you have any other ideas.
Should I ask her on Monday? Or wait a few days, like til Wednesday or something?
pic related...
i'm kinda messed up and i don't know what to do sometimes. like i'm cutting and depressed and shit. therapy doesn't do fucking anything.
If you don't want to talk to people about it (people you know, not a chinese cartoon imageboard), you don't want help. Simple as that. Let people in, otherwise you won't get better.
>>16560198
i don't know any people. no friends etc.
it looks like your problems won't be solved by simply talking to people
a therapist would probably be more helpful to you at this point
