This morning in my civics class we were doing a debate about abortion. I brought up the fact that if abortion was illegal it would result in more unsafe illegal back alley abortions. I used an example of coat hanger abortions. I didn't even go in detail or explain what they were, I just said “like sometimes they do coat hanger abortions” or something like that. But the next thing I knew this girl fainted and started having kind of a seizure. She turned literally green, she was having muscle spasms, her arm was stuck out all the way to the right, she hit her head on the desk behind her, her eyes flipped back so all you could see was red and white, and she was making some weird and eerie sounds, like muffled groans. It didn't last very long but it was still really scary. Someone ran to the nurse and the teacher had all of us except the girl go into the hall. The nurse took her to the health office and we all went back into the classroom. The teacher told us that she had said she was really sensitive to the topic of coat hanger abortions and this happened a couple of years ago in her health class. I don't exactly feel guilty because of course I didn't do it on purpose and you can't censor everything before you say it, but I feel bad that it happened and I feel bad that I kind of caused it. I guess the girl was fine, and she didn't have to go home, but it was still crazy.
My question now is what do I do? That class didn't like me before this happened and I'm sure they like me even less now. I'm just dreading having to go back to school tomorrow and see them. That's not a huge deal though because I only have this class until the end of January when the semester is over. I just don't want this to spread around school and have people know me as the one who made that girl have a fucking seizure. I know I didn't do anything wrong but I think other people think I did. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Hey adv I need some help.
I rent a room in a house that my friend owns. He recently said to me that he is uncomfortable with me having people in the house who he doesn't know and that I can't have guests stay over who he doesn't know personally (we share a number of mutual friends but I have a lot of friends he doesn't know). I understand it is his property but for me not being able to have any guests whatsoever seems unreasonable. This is my first time living as a lodger so I am unsure of what to do.
On one hand I can see where he is coming from and how he feels about strangers in the house but on the other hand he's making me feel like a child by telling me what I can and cannot do. Hell, even my parents never worried about who I brought home or had stay over when I lived with them. They always trusted my judgement and that I would never bring assholes into the house, which I never did.
How do I proceed?

Well yeah, that's pretty unreasonable on his part. But lets be real - how often are you having people over, and how many people? I had a roommate once who would throw parties often, and have at least 3-4 people over EVERY DAY for like the whole day. I'm far from anti-social, but I can tell you that it really sucks when you can NEVER come home to a quiet apartment and just relax. Like having 4 extra roommates that don't pay any rent and don't help with the bills. It gets old.
Long story short - if you want to keep living together, you're going to have to compromise and try to find a reasonable middle ground.

I started a thread a few days ago about my boyfriend studying abroad and his idea to break up during that 4 months. Realize that some people genuinely don't like texting and see it as a waste of time (unless you're trying to plan events or something).
When I'm home, I keep my phone charged in another room with the text sounds turned off. Small talk over a phone is boring as shit, and you can't properly convey everything you want to say. So when someone wants to actually talk to me, I prefer if they call or wait to see me in person. If they keep trying to text me, they're going to get "barely interested" texts an hour later. My guy learned early on that I don't take people seriously unless they put effort into a phone call.

My professor is allowing us to bring 2 pages of notes to the final. This is a 100 level college class. I managed to fit everything that I would have studied on to 2 pages at 10pt font. Guys, my boyfriend was blackmailed this morning. Someone contacted him saying they had personal info taken virtually from his laptop and they would send it to his family and Facebook. The content were three videos of us making love (which I particularly wouldn't feel so bad if they were released), and they were asking for $800. They skyped my boyfriend and shared the screen, so they could show him them deleting the files from their computer. My boyfriend transfered the money via Western Union to Turkey.
Questions: how they had access to those files? Options, pls
What can he do now in order to get these guys? Should he contact the police or something more specific?
How to make sure the chanel isn't still open for the scammers? Do you guys think they have continuous access to my bf's computer, or passwords and such?
My boyfriend felt exposed and he decided to pay. I wouldn't have payed, honestly, I can handle this situation (I still think soon these videos will be online, cuz I don't believe they really deleted them)
