Hey /adv/ I have an interview for my student visa in 2 days. Needless to say, im nervous. I dont know what exactly to expect with this interview and i have no idea how intensive the process is.
I have most of my documents prepared. The biggest thing that could go wrong at this point is this interview. Any anons go through the F-1 visa process before? What was the interview like? What kind of questions did they ask? Was it harder/easier than you thought?

At least thats my understanding of whats going to happen. Ive read that the process varies from country to country and theres also been cases where people were denied because they didnt do well at the interview.
Also im not the best student. Im sitting around a 2.75 gpa. How much trouble do you think they would give me?

Hey bros, this may be long, and may be a little blogish but I need to get this out here, and hopefully some of you can offer advice or say something to make me feel better.
I'm 19 years old, and in a good career. I graduated high school last year and moved out of my parents a couple months after that.
I haven't had someone I could honestly call a friend in probably 3-4 years. I put the blame on my "hypercritical" nature, meaning, I find the bad in someone instead of seeing what's good about them. It's gotten to the point where I HATE everyone except my family.
everyone's a liar or a cheater or egotistical, or lazy, and so on.
As you could probably assume, I am very depressed. The only times I feel happy are when I'm with my family, which means I'm a fucking loser and spend all my free time with them on the weekends, or when I'm working in town.
I can't even watch a fucking tv show because my hypercritical nature, every little thing just sets me off
I just want to be normal guys, I'm sad and lonely all the time, tfw no gf get's to me sometimes, and the weird thing is, I'm /fit/ and reasonably good looking. No matter how sad I get though, I'll most likely never an hero unless something crazy happens like my family dies or I get terminal cancer or some shit.
Sorry for the rambling and all that bull shit, thanks for reading and I would appreciate advice, specifically on fixing my whole hypercritical/hateful thinking

had a fight with brother and took an elbow to the head. Woke up with painful bruise, and dizziness, accompanied with a slight daze. I have not been nauseous at all, my eyes are not dialated, and ive been able to complete the kind devick test very quickly. dont feel like going to er though. my question is how severe does the blow have to be in order to be a concussion?, like ive said there was nothing traumatic about it,i have no amnesia towards the event, i and didnt black out.

Diagnosing a concussion is hard without a scan. If you suspect you had one (and by the symptoms you described, it's entirely possible, even without passing out), the only thing you can do is rest. Specially avoid bright lights, like from computers and cellphones, by the way. If after a nap you're still feeling ill, you need to look for a doctor.

Besides using electronics with a concussion is not harmful to your body, it will just increase your recovery time. Kansas Eviction / Residence Law help?
I have a friend in Kansas, age 21.
They are living at their friend's family home right now, since November, seeking work and just finished interviews for jobs. They don't pay rent; as far as I know the mother never required rent.
The mother verbally abuses them to the point they are scared to leave their room at the house. The mother told them "You're not allowed out of that room on Christmas." And so they can't get to food to eat.
So today they left the room. I don't know what happened but apparently the mother threatened to "take them to the shelter" on Sunday and that they're not welcome there anymore.
I told them call the police if she puts a hand on you.
How is this legal? She never required rent and my friend is actively seeking work, the bitch is butthurt because my friend is starving and went downstairs to try to find something to eat.
I need as much information as possible about Kansas law relating to eviction. What does my friend say or do at this point to protect themselves? They don't have anywhere else to go.

If there's no formal agreement aside from just a verbal contract, then your friend either can move--which is unfeasible at this point--or has to deal with the bullshit, lest they be cast out of the house. Realistically speaking, since I can't find anything on automatic residency in Kansas law, they're living in that house on borrowed time. I'm honestly surprised they haven't been thrown out, based on the mother's general behavior. But if their friend can document the fact that the mother is abusing this person, such as verbal abuse, threats and general starvation, then it becomes a legal issue, and they should receive help from the authorities.
I say tell them to get proof that they're in an abusive household and have to stay there out of lack of other options. If the mother gets physical, going to the cops will almost certainly get them kicked out, but might result in charges against the mother, especially with proof of prior abuse.

If you want to go straight to a 4 year you can but there is nothing wrong with the CC route either and it may even be better for you. I found transferring into the top 50 Uni I wanted to be incredibly easy myself and I probably spent about $1000-1500/year on my first 2 years at CC
