The way I see it, either your girlfriend doesn't care she gets called ugly while doing nothing about it, or does everything in her power to not get called ugly. You will just have to do what you continue to do and avoid calling her ugly. The last thing she needs is for that to come from you, because then it will sound like for you, her facial appearance does matter when in reality you have said that is not the reason you are with her.

If the negative aspects of her facial structure are stuff that can be (relatively) easily remedied - such as straightening her teeth, removing a few moles and wearing sunscreen regularly, I think you should be able to have an honest conversation with your girlfriend about these approaches. To be absolutely honest with you, most girls are pretty ugly when the makeup is off, and there are some amazing things you can do with makeup. Your girlfriend continuing to maintain her "ugly" face and choosing not to explore makeup options and such may or may not hint at a certain aspect of her personality that might become problematic for the relationship in the future.

You have A LOT of time to carve your own success.

not everybody has the same good starting conditions, so sop comparing yourself and do your own thing. just because others have gotten ahead doesn't mean you won't leave them far behind in the future. could be that they had an ideal start but never learned to deal with hardship and failure. the first time they come across a rough patch they will fall like a house of cards. and then it will be your time to shine. also, success is a vague term. what do you call success? what have those others accomplished that you haven't?

Well, what's the context? Give more in-depth examples. I go back and forth with my husband, but we both know that we're never, ever serious. We say some obscene, ridiculous things to each other (that, when my mother heard for the first time, made her want to shit herself with laughter and then cry because it was so mean). If something's actually bothering us, we talk it out instead of passive-aggressively throwing insults at each other.

If you don't like that kind of companionship, or you feel like it might be too hurtful, then tell her. But just be aware that, if that IS what she's looking for in someone, you're going to have compatibility issues.
