So every time one of my friends get in a relationship, they cut like 95% of all communication and contact with me and rest of the group. This is the third time this has happened with a friend, and when they (she) breaks up, he always come crawling back, pretending like nothing has happened. Once I brought it up, this "friend" victimized himself, and blablabla, long story short, all her fault. They don't feel like real friends, and they are constantly lying.
Should I just cut the contact with these people, or would it be a mistake? What's your experience?

I don't think it's a thing to cut a friendship, some times your friend can be immature and don't know how to proceed when it's dating a girl and have friends. Maybe you should try to tell him how the things works (your friend don't know how to prioritize things).

Hey /adv/, I am getting a shot at working at a fast food place part time and was wondering some things that are probably super stupid.
Do employees generally get more than one set of clothes for their uniform or do they just get one top and one bottom? If it's just one set for the uniform, do you wear that one set multiple times or do you wash it after every shift?
I've never seemed to know what the deal with these questions was.

Is an EXTREME "hands-off" approach to parenting completely valid? I'm having a big fight with my wife about this (we have no kids yet).
My parents largely ignored me as a child. I would often disappear for 3-4 days at a time. In turn, they showed very little in my well-being or safety. They also showed zero interest in my childish activities, though they always provided food and shelter.
Sure, I got heavy into drugs at one point and almost died a bunch of times during my adventures, but learning from my mistakes has made me a better person. I went on to become a successful lawyer.
Am I right that over-parenting is bad? I mean, strength only arises through making mistakes and living through it. And if my (hypothetical) child dies due to misadventure, it would be sad, but probably due to stupidity and weakness -- not all of my crazy friends made it. Some people just lack the common sense to keep themselves alive when shit gets real, simple as that.

I don't want to talk shit on your life or on your parents, because I don't know them, and it sounds like you've had an interesting life. But most parents just couldn't do that, and I think most kids really appreciate knowing that someone cares about their well-being, even if it restricts their freedom at times. Kids just aren't really equipped to weigh risks and make decisions yet, a child who dies due to "stupidity and weakness" might've grown into a perfectly functional adult if he wasn't neglected and allowed to get himself killed by his parents

hey /b/, just wondering how many people are/were in the position I am in and what you would do to change it.
I am currently 24, and I have had a 4 year post at a respectable career that has a furture (programming), but I got to a point where I was sick with it. I was smoking weed from about 17 years old, and I have regretted that decision from when I was about 20 years old, yet I still cannot stop. I have now not smoked in 5 days, which is the latest in a long line of give up attempts and I always seem to relapse. I once managed 1/2 a year, but that was the longest by far. I resort to borrowing money and getting myself into a position I cannot afford rent. When I try to give up, I end up drinking more and when I stop that, I end up gambling. I have an addictive personality at the end of the day, but I have no idea what to do to stop it. I know I am destroying my life, but I want that to stop.
Anyone going/gone through something similar, please let me know! would be appreciated!

I don't know man. I smoked weed since I was 15. But since I finished first year of university, I smoked less and less, eventually I was only smoking two times per year.Then I had a crazy period when I smoked loads of weed everyday for 7 months, then I stopped out of nothing, cold turkey, without any problems at all. Now I will still smoke a joint from time to time, but only at a party with friends. Weed was never problem for me. And I find it the easiest drug to stop using. My criptonite on the other hand is tabbacco. I have a big problem with cigarettes...

So I bought a shirt off a site called Threadless as gift for my boyfriend.
I purchased the shirt on Jan 31. Since then I had received no notification if my package was shipped or not. Every time I logged in and checked the tracking it would send me to a DHL page with no tracking info available.
With it being a few days before Valentine's Day, I eventually tried looking up the tracking number on usps and lo and behold, it says the package was delivered last friday, Feb 5th around 3pm.
Except I remember being home all that day because I worked from home and the door bell never rang. Nothing was left in the mailbox either. So it was either never delivered, was sent to the wrong address, or someone stole it.
So I call the local post office, and they said our trusty mailman did deliver it to my place that day.
They said they also recieved info from the company that sent the shirt on Feb 7th but that I had to contact them what it's all about.
Either way I never got my package and Im just super confused about the whole thing.
What do I do?

A local event. Like a valentine themed thing.

I hate my boss. I've hate him for years. I don't know if you all care why, but he's driven me to commit suicide 3 separate times.
This whole job is a prison.
