I did two weeks of training with the fattest of fat fucks and it was a miserable two weeks. The guy didn't shower once, had mold growing on him in various places, ate and spent money on food like no one I'd ever seen, and bragged the whole ride about the girls he fucks in different cities.
I tell you, I like having my CDL. It's landed me many side jobs that pay the bills, but if you start, make sure you've talked to a LOCAL company that will only run you within the region your in and have you home nightly, lest you wash out.
Avoid starter companies at all cost, and if you absolutely cannot afford to pay for a CDL on your own, go and get trained by Millis Transportation up in Wisconsin. Yes, you'll be contracted to work for them for a year, but they're not so bad as the others.
Master crock pot meals and tiny living BEFORE getting in a truck. Most of your money will be spent on fast food purchases if you don't.
Get a CB. Not to chat, but to know how and when to avoid a bad traffic situation.

So I met this girl in Uni, we went to a field and got high and watched the stars, went cold and we went home. I've dug myself a hole so deep and I have no idea what to do now that the rope has been cut so suddenly. I've been on unemployment since I got laid off last year, and thought it would last until at least mid-april. The plan for the year was to figure out what I wanted to do for school or at least find a better job, a lot of shit happened that is pretty much excuses and I neet'd the fuck out. I started my job hunt pretty earnestly about a week ago, things were looking pretty good. Then I broke my toe in a few places, which they're saying is going to take 6~ish weeks to heal. Which sucked, but I figured I could make it work. Turns out my unemployment literally ran out today.
So I'm unhireable, busted, and soon to be very, very broke. I have no fucking clue what to do.

okay /adv/ I'll try to keep it short
My mother has two children, both of whom are significantly younger than me. She has a daughter who is 15 and a son who is 12. She has been divorced twice, first from my father, but three years ago she kicked out her kids' dad. From what my half sister is telling me, my mom went batshit (why I don't keep in touch with her) basically, she kicked their dad out for no obvious reason. He's a really nice guy and loves those kids to death. Recently, my half sister called me kind of concerned. What happened is, her father couldn't continue to afford child support on top of watching the kids half the week AND paying for half of the medical bills, so he contacted my mother and told her she needed to work a day position so he could work two jobs (he was voluntarily watching my half siblings three nights a week for her convenience so she didn't have the stress of a day shift) so she obtained a day position. After about three months, she quit and took back her day position. My mother doesn't want to pay for child care overnight OR lower the child support ($1000 per month plus half of all other expenses for the kids) so she's planning on leaving my 12 year old half brother and 15 year old half sister alone overnight for a few days per week. (2 maybe 3) so, from what my half sister is telling me, is that she's uncomfortable staying home alone at night, but doesn't want to tell her dad because he'll worry, and want to watch the kids overnight again. Meanwhile he's paying my mother so much that he's probably going to me evicted from his house soon. It sickens me my mother is being so selfish and inconsiderate towards her children and ex for this matter. My question is, are there any laws against leaving children ages 15 and 12 alone overnight? Some sources say it isn't permitted while some say otherwise. I'd watch them, but I'm in a different state at University. Thanks guys!

I have what I consider a toxic friend. He is always complaining about the things I like. I love politics and he describes it as something futile. He likes alot science and can talk about it for hours, but when it comes to me, he pulls me under because the things I talk about isn't interesting. So.. Here's the story.
About 4 months ago, I was going to the grocery store with my dad. Then this girl from highschool who us really artsy and just incredible said hi to me. I always kinda had a crush on her. I knew she was in a play, so I facebook searched that play and came across her. Except it wasn't her, it was some doppelganger lookalike. I was thinking the entire time it was her, and she didn't even have a facebook. I soon that after some time. I tried adding her but she never replied. So I never understood this, how can I start a conversation with a girl I like?
