Look they're addicts. It's really impossible to quit smoking if you're in a certain mindset. And it's not that easy to 'force' a mindset. It's almost not even her fault. When she wants a cig it likely feels like she's dying of thirst; that is a hard feeling to overcome. There comes a point in addiction where its really not a CHOICE you just have to do it. Whereas for someone else who's a smoker, they have a different mindset and awareness, different abilities mentally, they could put it down and never look back.

Whether people change or not depends on their mindset, awareness, if they're mentally ill, and if they want to change. You can't do that for them.

Depression and anxiety can be really crippling depend on the person or severity. I know it can seem like bullshit sometimes but it's more likely that he's having a rough time.

It's so frustrating when people don't understand depression and think "you were fine yesterday." I'm one of the most outwardly social and extroverted people you'll meet on the surface, but I have bouts of crippling anxiety and depression that I just can't get control over. It feels like the weight of the world is crushing me and I just want abandon everything that isn't the small space that is my room.

I have mostly had to tough through it, and some years are better than others, but try to give him a break and learn up on it.

I think it's absolutely fine. Actually I think the use of porn throughout your life is fine - even when you get married and the notion of that being "cheating" has always been confusing to me.
But that being said, I never cared for saving my virginity for my true love. Yeah, it's a nice fairytale, but I would dread being stuck with a partner that I was not compatible with sexually.
So that makes me and (your gf?) very different. I would talk to her about it. If she thinks it's cheating, it's cheating. Same thing the other way around.
