Anyway no one knows what love really is and people will tell you something isn't love often but never what really IS love. A widely accepted but vague definition is that when you love something you feel like you want to take care of it regardless of what you get in return.
Love is a word people say too often and it's easier said than done. It's one of those things people think they know the answer but if they actually have to give you a definition they have to stop and think for a while.
It may be important to know that you can want something without loving it. Which is not wrong at all. And I think you can love AND want someone at the same time.
The question is often would you rather let your significant other be with someone that can take care of him/her better than you do? I think that replying No doesn't mean you don't love that person but many will disagree with me here I think.
A very wise friend of mine gave me this example: You see a flower, you really like that flower. If you want the flower you pick it up and take it home, but it will die soon. If you love the flower you will come see it every day wherever it is and make sure it gets sun and water so it can live alright.

All 3 of my poly sci friends went on to grad or law school. presumably it seems like a springboard degree that sends you to become a lawyer or politician or civil servant. But honestly, all degrees are pretty much all the same apart from STEM degrees.

Every last person told me that the only use for a PoliSci degree is to get into grad or law school. That involves getting into debt and I'm already 25,000 dollars in the hole. Plus my parents are dependent on my income to live because theyre unemployed and I do not make a lot money. motivation is sort of inherent. it comes within. the self help books about motivation sell well cuz everyone wants more motivation, but unlike books like 'the secret' you never really hear of one becoming so immensely popular.

motivation is intrinsic. unless it is external motivation. that motivation can come from needing to make sure your kids are taken care of, or pressure from your parents, or even the desire not to be whipped by your master.

so if you can't surrender control to a parent, friend, or roommate, then ur fucked.

im fortunate enough to have a baseline of motivation to build from. if you can find it in you, do it. its as simple as making a list of what you want to do, and taking the first step today.

my advice? only allow yourself to play story oriented games, the kind with endings. if you are playing and mmorpg like LoL (at least i think it is i dont know cuz i rarely play video games) then those eat up all of your time. theres no reason to ever stop. its just constant leveling up.

when i was younger i played runescape. i kept convincing myself the game would start to be fun when i got X skill level or Y new ability. but it was just the same thing over and over again. so i gave up and never really went back to mmorpgs.

Nothing you can do but keep trying. Start right at the bottom of the career ladder. Look for a job that you can do for a couple years which will give you a better shot at landing the job you actually want.
