I broke up with my ex 2 years ago and she took the dogs in the break up. I work too much to take care of them but I was supposed to be able to see them every now and then. No contact with my ex became more important and so I haven't seen them in 2 years. How can I see them without dealing with my ex?

Sorry, but you're going to have to deal with your ex at least a little in order to come in contact with (what are now basically) her dogs. You can minimize contact by initially telling her you don't want to see or talk to her as much as possible and work out a schedule with her to work around that, but you are going to have to deal with her at least a little at first.
Just write up an agreement between you two on when the best times for you to visit will be and what you two will do if something comes up or either of you changes your mind about that initial schedule. Maybe you could come take the dogs for a walk once a week while she's at work or something.

Well, it really depends on how she sees things. For all you know you might be doing her a favor, though. Lots of dog owners hire people to walk their dogs for them when they're busy, and consider it a chore. And here you are pretty much wanting to do it for free. If she ever wants to go on vacation and can't bring the dogs, maybe you could offer to be her free dogsitter too. Just try to be a nice, honest, reasonable adult about the whole matter and treat her like you have faith she can be too.
So two of my friends starting dating about two years ago when they were still in high school. One of them is a gay(ish), dude with clinical depression and an affinity for mind altering substances. The other is this nerdy chick from a low income family (straight girl, btw) who drinks/smokes occasionally. Gay friend's depression has only gotten worse since high school, and subsequently, so has his drug problem.
So they date on and off- she insists she isn't going to put up with his escalating drug habits (weed, alcohol, coke) and cheating. They keep getting back together because she's convinced he's he's getting better because he talks to her more than he used to. He dropped out of community college to work Taco Bell and got himself a cheap apartment while they were broken up. Then all of a sudden they got back together, and she moved in and is sharing financial responsibility.
Things are fine at first, but then (about a week ago) she calls me (as she often does when shit goes south) and tells me that he's been storing heroine and that he cheated again. I went to go see him while he was fucked up on OxyContin and she was at work and I guess he seemed remorseful, as she insists he is. She's obviously still holding out hope for him and plans to put her name on the lease to his apartment this fall (so I guess she doesn't have committed fiscal responsibility) but still holy shit. They're both my fiends so I don't wan to tell her to break up with him because, oh yeah, he says he'll probably kill himself if she leaves him, but she obviously needs to be out of this situation. And I know it may not seem like it, but he's probably destitute enough to do it.
What do?
Ps- don't ask me about their sex life because I don't have a clue. I think there's a dildo involved somehow.

Hey /adv/, I'm about to go on a road trip by myself to visit my boyfriend in NY (I'm from MI). I'm feeling pretty nervous about driving that far by myself (About 500 miles between us), especially in my car that should make it there fine, but has a slight possibility of not making it.
Anybody got any tips for super long car rides? I'm gonna make a bunch of CD's, bring snacks, etc. But I feel like I'm just gonna be super bored and get tired. Also still debating on if I should leave during the day time or at night.
Pros for daytime: Will easily be able to spot any deer, feel a bit safer because of light.
Cons of daytime: More drivers on busy highways, more traffic.
Pros of nighttime: less drivers, little traffic
Cons of nighttime: Deer, little light, might get lost easier.
Thoughts and opinions? 19 year old with a '94 Grand Prix. It's rusted and ugly from previous owner, but it runs great. Would any car shops do a free check upon it to make sure it could make the drive? Like Tireman, Belle Tire, places like that if you've heard of them.

How do i stop being scared of sex?

I have been going through this phase of depression for well over a year now, and I fear it'll affect me academically on the last year of highschool; starting in August. The biggest problem is that only a total of like 40 days till I'm back in school and can't afford therapy at all.
I reckon the top reason is isolating my self from society for way too long. But how do I get back at it?

I'm not really sure where or how to meet women anymore. I turn 30 shortly, and these days it seems like there's nowhere to find anyone of actual worth - plus I grew up in this city, so I feel like I know everyone, or someone they know, etc.
I'm in shape, well-off financially, have a large set of friends, diverse interests... I know none of that "entitles" me to anyone, but I'm just saying, I'm not a virgin NEET with nothing going for him. I'm also not desperate for a relationship, but following the whole "wait for it and it will come" kind of thing isn't getting me anywhere.
When I was in my early 20s, I always had a ton of dateable options, it was hard to choose. The crucial thing is that I'm also not just looking for a cheap easy fuck... I'm happy jerking off at home if it comes down to it. If I really wanted to fuck, it'd take me no time at all - I live in Vegas, I can pounce on some drunk girl in a club within minutes.
I've tried online dating, which sucks. Meetup.com never has anything actually interesting going on.
