Just be open to considering the fact that you're wrong. It seems to me that whether or not something is insulting depends entirely on the person's reaction within the context of the interaction. In your case, that means that every person who was 'extremely offended' by your comments was under the impression that you said something 'outright insulting.' In some sense, that means you *did* say something outright insulting, even if you didn't intend for it to be so.

Look, some people are oversensitive cunts. It sucks, and you can't do anything about that. I'd just stop trying to have friendly banter with people that have reacted poorly to your sense of humor in the past.

It's also worth considering whether or not maybe you're too sensitive about people's negative reactions to your banter. Really, go do whatever the fuck you want. Not going to tell my fire department for privacy reasons but it's in Canada. I am not officially a firefighter yet. I still have to do some training before I can apply at my fire department and I saw it as an opportunity to know more people and make a name in the department.

I listed you the reasons why I joined but I simply cannot turn a blind eye to the reality that most of the firefighters (at least those I met) are not fond of the idea of diversity. I understand that and my intention is only to show the reality and if they are interested and want to adapt, I'll gladly teach them. But by doing this, it may stain my name and maybe even not get the job.

While hubby works, if you have access to a vehicle, get to know your immediate surrounding. Establish your familiarity with good take out areas. If you're not shopping on base, know where has the best grocery coupon deals. Try to keep the home orderly. These are basics and crazy helpful for living on base. As far as what you can do for yourself, taking online courses will be best as you may move a lot and being tied to a physical classroom will be difficult. Also look into a part time job just to keep yourself occipied. Please dont become one of those damn pig military wives that is lazy as fuck and wallows in her happy gated lifestyle

If you don't mind going back to school, think about something like becoming a dental hygienist, nurse, or something else in the medical field. If you want your work to be meaningful, look nowhere else.

It's all being at the right place at the right time or nepotism. With how our world works now our education system is outdated and unreliable. You may have to look at jobs outside of the field you studied in. That is just sadly how the world is now a days. It has nothing to do with your abilities.
