That she's vomiting is probably a good sign, it means her gut is rejecting whatever might still be getting absorbed. Whether or not that has much impact on how much ethanol is entering her upper intestine, or how readily it crosses the intestinal wall, I don't really know.

She'll probably be fine, but you're right to keep an eye on her. I've woke up face down in my own vomit many times, and even woke up having shat myself once. Probably lucky to have survived so many times in retrospect.

When in doubt take her to the doctor, there is no way for us to really determine when she has crossed the line into alcohol poisoning.

The fact that she is sitting up and drinking water out of a glass is good sign. Keep having her drink water and monitor her. If at any time she can't sip any water, passes out, has irregular breathing, can't acknowledge you at all it's probably time to call 911.

Well, I suppose you could try making a rule that goes along with it. Whenever you drink a diet soda, you have to also commit to snorting a line of crushed salt and squirting an entire 1/4 size wedge's worth of lime juice into your eyeball. After a while you'll probably stop drinking the soda.

Improve other areas of your life.

Your brain expects it to contain a hit of sugar, but it doesn't, so you keep drinking more. Drink real soda. You'll hopefully drink less of it.

After that, try some proper rest and proper nutrition. If the addiction is due to some kind of stress or unhappiness, talk therapy might help.

It might be an hormonal problem.
It might be a period of huge stress at work or family.
It might be multiple light discomforts (hot wetaher->lack of sleep, eating less, don't drink enough)
