Would something like this heal? If this person were to receive surgery, would the surgeons be able to repair the face to make it look somewhat "normal"?

I ask this because I was recently in an accident that tore my cheek like this. I have lost four of my left-side teeth and a small portion of my bottom lip was punctured. A bottom bit of the right side of my nose was also punctured. I also suffered a fractured collarbone. I have been in the hospital since yesterday and am going to be undergoing surgery in a few hours. I'm sorry if this is the wrong board for this, but I figured that since this board was labeled "advice" that it would be fitting. I also posted this thread on /fit/ as it once was labeled personal health and fitness...

Thank you.

tl;dr: Would a wound like this look normal after surgery or after prolonged healing? Thanks.

>If this person were to receive surgery, would the surgeons be able to repair the face to make it look somewhat "normal"?
Yes.
>>
Afraid not, senpai. With a large chunk taken out like that, the skin is going to have a hard enough time healing. I have dozens of puncture wounds from 10-15 years ago that are still visiblez and that was from stabbing straight down into the skin (dog bites mostly). If the lip was punctured in the right spot, the curve of the lip will cover the scar (had a dog bite in the same place and people only notice it when I pull my lip up to show them).

To minimize scarring, stay out of the sun and use sunblock whenever you have to go outside.

Should I try online dating/Tinder or other social mediums?

I am at a loss how to meet a woman. I am 26 and single and not in a position to actively look for a woman. This and I don't drink, do drugs or any of that stuff and generally quite reserved. On top of that, outside of meeting friends I don't go out and my workplace, everyone is in a relationship.

My only problem is that I know/read/hear that most people, never mind the girls, who are attracted to these sites and apps are unhinged to say the least or just looking for hookups. I would ideally like a well adjusted young woman with her head screwed on, good family and good values.

I am interested solely in a loving, long term relationship and not a one night stand. I am a virgin and besides one relationship, don't have experience.

Should I take the jump or stick to my guns and try social avenues instead?

I am also concerned regarding my appearance and height, 162cm, and my ethnicity which is asian. I don't have a persucution complex but I do know small size and asians aren't in very high demand in the dating area. That and I am still working on obtaining a full-time paid job, currently getting work experience.

How do i stop overthinking?
I'd say 90% of my sadness comes from overthinking and there's nothing i can do about it as of now.

Most of the time it's just social interactions but recently it's been deciding if i should ask a girl out or not

How can I stop falling in love with anime girls? I haven't felt anything for a real girl in 6 years.

Long story, but last week i dropped everything and quit my job on the spot. No drama, no big scene or anything, but i was just pushed past my breaking point. (The owner of the store sent me in to talk to him about how i need to start "helping out other departments" even though my own department consists of me myself and i and i can barely manage to keep that running smooth)

Like i said, long story, but im the best worker they had. They didnt expect me to quit, but i did. I took off my vest, took of my badge, handed it to the owner (who sat there in shock) and i said goodbye and i walked out.

A week later, several of my bosses have sent me voicemails begging me to come back. My department is now vacant, and two other departments have to co-manage what i used to do, and apparently its chaos and theyre actually losing fucking production since i left.

/adv/, do i return? I havent really been job searching. They payed me well, but they treated me like absolute dirt. I could negotiate things but i dont really know what i should do at this point. Quitting that shithole was entirely satisfying and i feel like they would win if i came back.

What kind of raise are they offering if you come back?

No. They fucked with you, they pay the fucking price. They will not change if you come back. Let them suffer for their insolence.
>>
>>17373558
I'd say go back, ask for more money and just work there temporary until you get something better and quit.

I'm unhappy that I'm average.

>mediocre grades
>cant dance
>cant sing
>cant socialise
>cant act
>can't speak articulately
>can't type good
>weak as fuck, i'm just fat

cant do anything. I just feel so unhappy that there's nothing special about me. I'm no prodigy, I'm destined to do some boring average job. I wish there was someway science could tell me what my talent is so I can go in that direction.

When I look at Michael Jackson, I can't help but compare myself to him. He makes me feel so useless.

If it weren't for the average person we'd be unable to discern those that are special. Everyone likes to think they're special when in reality they're painfully average and will have average lives with average jobs and die an average death. Fucking get used to it and try to extract some enjoyment out of your existence. That, or put a metric fuck ton of work into those things that you're weak in so that you can be above average.
>>
Holy shit.

Are you me???
I have ALL of your problems, and some of mine are worse, for example, I had to repeat a grade.

Anyway, there has to be SOMETHING that you like that can be turned into a potential career path. What are your hobbies?
>>
>>17373550
You havebto realise that the average person is made to feel above average, if you feel like your average the reality is that you are under average

So my partner left the country in June, and a week before he did, he was an idiot, and lent his car to a friend who lives in a different state. She drove it back, and was supposed to return it in August when he returns. Now she is not answering any calls or emails, and we don't know if the address she gave us is her current address. She's a super sketchy trashy individual, and we are almost certain she's decided to steal the car. Since he handed her the key, it is a civil matter instead of a police matter-- even though she's decided to try and steal the car. I've done a ton of research but there's no solid way to find out which address, if any of them that I have, is accurate.
We are going to the state she's at in a few weeks to get the car back, but I need to be back home 3 days later.
Will the police help me if I say we didn't give her permission to take the car?
My plan right now is to stop at the addresses I have in a rental car to check for the vehicle. If that doesn't work, the next morning we stop at every sun-glass hut in the two cities, because we know she works at one. We could ask if ____ is going to be there. As soon as we locate the vehicle-- if we locate the vehicle-- we would tow it to the nearest dealership, re-key it, and drive home. Oh, and file a police report on the piece of trash who stole it.
But I am worried we won't find the address because she may have moved again, or that she doesn't work at a sun-glass shop.
Any advice?

if you can get a lwyer to help you I think you can put a lean on the car which would not allow the individual to sell it at any official car places or change the registration info I believe.
>>
Couldn't you just phone the police for advice? don't know what they are like in the US.
>>
>>17373525
I am a student, and I don't think he has quite enough for money for a lawyer either. But he does have the title, and I don't think she could sell it if she in no way owns or is registered under the car. I hope not at least. I'll look into a lean though. Thanks!
>>17373565
Most police departments won't take this case seriously because the car thief was an acquaintance that was given permission to use the car in the past-- regardless of the fact that she won't return it when asked.

Does anyone have bipolar disorder?

I am worried I have it, I don't want to go to doctors if I don't though and take shit I don't need.

I just feel so hopeless about everything, so irritated, hate everyone and everything and think everything is shit. But then suddenly I will change and feel positive, slightly crazy and have a great sense of humour. I switch in between the two and they last a few hours.

I want to know if anyone has been diagnosed with it and how they found out, how they feel symptom wise, what they did.. etc.

I am with you man.

I have been diagnosed. Went to the psychologist/psychiatrist on advice of my brother.
It was completely pointless. They just told me to take some addicting pill that I would need to take for the rest of my life.

It would remove depressive phase, but also the super awesome crazy motivating phase.
Oh and the side effect was I would get spasms, seizures, nightmares, headaches, and acne.
They didn't care about me as person. So I said FUCK IT! and said goodbye to my psychologists after 4 months.

This sounds cliche, but I have turned to faith to help me, and it works. I meditate and pray to The Most High Jah Ras Tafari every evening before sleep.

I have also completely changed my diet. I only drink water and sometimes ganja tea.
I stopped eating/drinking everything that is very sugary, fatty, or just plain unhealthy like candy soft drinks, microwave food, pizzas, hamburgers, and so on.

Once a week I smoke marijuana to work on myself. I don't use it for recreation. I just smoke it and then sit down and write/think about my goals, what goes well, what goes wrong, what I need to improve, what are my strengths and weaknesses, etc etc..

For the rest I have banned most entertainment out of my life for example television, videogames, too much internet, youtube, and reading novels. Instead I am doing meaningful endevours like music, painting, writing growing the herbs, and learning a new language.

I also try to lift weights or go running everyday to stay healthy and fit.
I am already fit and skinny and I don't want to be a bodybuilder so I don't worry if I forget to do it once in a while.

When you decide if you should or shouldn't do something, what things should you consider? These are some things I can think of clearly:
>Whether you have a desire to do it (or not do it)
>Whether you have a moral obligation or responsibility to do it (or not do it)
>The objective/physical consequences of doing it (or not) (e.g. physical addiction, bodily harm, scorn or judgement from others, jail time, etc, but not something vague like "it'd mess my mind up")

There is a fourth point I can't decide if it makes sense. It's trying to account for that lurking "it'd mess my mind up." This is it:
>The social implications of the action (different from actual scorn or judgement from others because it doesn't require others). Basically your internalized standards and how you see yourself as a part of society and as a person defined by their establishment of themselves in society

What do you guys think of this final point? Is it something we all (or at least most) have and considers, as social animals? Is it something someone should ideally free themselves from to live more in accordance with their own desires and standards, or is it underrated and do people not appreciate their obligation to work within society, to the point of making bad and reckless decisions for their mental health?

Oh yeah, also, anything else one should consider in generalized decision making
15 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>17373279

what? such a broad question, for literally any action you take.
>>
>>17373287
Not really... it's a context free question, but not exactly broad. Decision making is pretty nebulous and unconscious but it also makes sense to try to understand the considerations that do or should go into it.

Basically I ask because there's something I'm trying to decide about that I should do by considering the first three points but I still don't want to do. So it's a huge riddle to me.
>>
>>17373296

>but not exactly broad
>literally any action you could ever take, any decision you could ever make
>whats the guidelines

yes, it is exactly broad.

Only if you can get into a Top 100 (international) university, and study a truly academic subject

The latter goes out of the window if you study in a Top 10 university. I went to Cambridge and even the History of Arts students now earn 6 figures in the city

If you're not interested in university then definitely don't do it, that would be a horrible idea. You can just study a trade and make way more money than someone with a degree and have little debt

If your parents are paying for it, might as well study. Don't know what to say, I saw so many people party and do shit while I studied and now I kind of regret not knowing people

Best advice I could say is do connections so you can land jobs later on; Not joking here. I made almost 2 or 3 connections at best and now I'm struggling to find a position. Might as well kill myself thanks to no social skills.
