So I want to grow weed and I have built a grow box out of a old lego box lol, I cut holes for two 120 mm computer fans. One for intake and one for exhaust. So far so go, test plant has popped out a bit and I only want one very very small plant for personal use. I am shooting for maybe a three week grow tops, I basically only need a gram or two every month. I am doing 24 hour lighting with a single CFL, again I don't need much product and I would rather kill a few test plants and prefect the art of a quick small low bud plant for personal use.
So for the very small harvest I am shooting for, I am thinking a week of the vegetative stage tops and then how ever long it is to get a very small amount of weed (I hoping 2 weeks but that might be unrealistic). Problem and why I am posting, is I want to make sure it doesn't smell to bad. I am thinking with one plant I should be okay since my place kinda smells like weed anyway and I am not going to let this thing get big at all, plus no one really cares but I want it manageable. So my question is what kinda of carbon filter can I get that would fit onto a 120 mm fan exhaust?
Budget is not an issue, thxs.
>Dad has only one cigarette left
>I want to roll a spliff but he'll notice if I take it
>Not enough weed to just smoke a joint
wat do

Hm...
What?
No I actually use it for medical purposes if that was meant as an insult towards me. I don't use that much compared to most people and I don't want to get high. I don't even smoke it, I eat it and I don't even eat enough to get high, I use it to treat anxiety. I am not a drug user, I am using it as medication dumbass.

Make a pipe out of an old soda can
Are there any normal, well adjusted, gainfully employed people over the age of 25 on this board? I'm starting to feel like this board is just an echo chamber for teenagers in college and the unemployed, racist, and NEET.
Is there any reason for me to keep coming to this board at the age of 29 to try to give real advice, or should I just finally pull the plug?
>>17388207
pull the plug, /adv/ is dead
>>17388207
>27
>Graduated with Engineering
>Full Time Employment
>Have friends
Reason for coming is to dispense advice to others, and try and work out what I'm meant to do about a crush who has had a breakdown and how to support her, even though she doesn't answer my calls or texts anymore.
>>17388207
>normalish
>gainfully self employed

i come here to advise, as others have advised me
Hey /adv/ I need some fashion advice, I don't know anything about fashion, and want to look more grown up. I'm 18, blonde, skinny dude. What should I change?

most of his shit is awful and you know it. some it looks good, ill give you that. but most of it is cartoon-tier
What do I do if my neighbors are the most inconsiderate pieces of shit I've ever seen. These retards have dogs and literally every fucking day they let them outside at 7 am and they bark non fucking stop. Even with them barking loud as fuck they never let them inside and literally they just sit outside my house barking all day they do it at 6 am and as late as midnight every day.
What the fuck do I do? I mean killing them is one option but I'm afraid of cops. I'm too autistic to go talk to them and every time I report it the cops ignore it because they're fucking retards. When they wake me up I usually go outside and yell shut your dogs up you fucking retards but they dont

On okcupid for first time ever, gotten a couple of likes
What do I say?
Any advice on how to get the conversation going would be helpful
you can post asking for advice for similar things in this thread as well

You have to comment on something personal to them - from their bio or photos

We have a 87% match rate, I assume that means 87% of things are in common right?
its hard to choose what to start talking about without it sounding stupid or unimportant
>>17388176
Youre overthinking it. All you need to do is ask a non-yes/no question to get the ball rolling. Crack a few jokes too, or just be humorous in general.
Is petulantly fussing in attempt to get a girl to sleep with you scumbag behavior?
>>17388154
definitely yes
Scumbag isn't the word I'd use. "Childish" sort of leaps to mind
It's understandable to be frustrated, but it's all about how you handle your frustration. Don't take it out on others, don't complain about being "friendzoned", and don't whine to the girl in question. Just don't be shitty. I'm sure you know how.
If there was a person that tries to steal something e.g. wallet but you found out and in response beat the hell out of the person, would you be arrested? Say if this is in a metro.
>>17388138
It depends on the laws in your country, but generally, yes, you can still get arrested.
>>17388138
Generally the benefit of the doubt will be in your favour, but there are lines...
>>17388147
Say in France or Italy. The pickpocket attempts to steal, you scream/shout pickpocket. They try to run with your stuff, you got him/her and hit them and continue your life. The twist is that the police was there the whole time .
how do i kill myself but make it look like an accident?
why make it look like an accident? what's the problem gonna be for you if you're dead?
>>17388140
cant hurt my mother like that, she will feel its her fault and blame herself for the rest of her life
By joining a volunteer fire department, signing on as a deep-sea diver on an oil rig, or doing similarly dangerous things so that when the time comes, it really is an accident. Nothing else works: insurance investigators are too good at what they do, and even when they are not, they tend to rule on the side of it being suicide anyway.
What would be the best way to go about breaking down my mental barriers and just communicate with strangers? Especially women in this regard, I struggle to initiate conversations with people and I'm not really sure how to go about fixing it. My friends tell me I just have to put the time in, but it doesn't feel that easy, any tips?
Another thing I should probably mention is that I struggle to speak loudly enough to be heard, so I tend to get discouraged if they don't hear me, but I'm trying to fix that by practicing at home and trying to make a mental note of it, though it's definitely at its worst when I go to loud places like festivals and crowded parties.
I guess I'll give this one last bump before I try elsewhere
In what does your insecurity stem?
Fucking in public
Boy friend and I want to try something new fucking in public in our car is a risk any safe places where we won't get caught?
I once went to a public bathroom in a park at night. Never got caught.
Also did the same in condos/apartments where they store the dumpsters. Stinky as fuck but worth it
>>17388120
>any safe places where we won't get caught?
The whole point is that you COULD get caught.
If you really insist on something like this, I suggest looking up Fuck For Forest or some similar porn-activism group, and learn what you can from their experiences.
>>17388120
It's not that risky
I had sex with my ex in all six zones of London, in public places
Parks are generally good
How do I talk to girls on tinder?
I have plenty of matches, but almost no response.
>>17388117

Kill yourself.
Does drinking coffee even with cream/milk end up with the same amount of yellowing teeth as drinking coffee black? Implying that I don't brush my teeth afterwards, but I do. Just pretend that I don't for now.
Picture unrelated
>>17388113
You're weakening your enamel even further by brushing right after coffee.
>>17388195
Well, not "right" after I drink coffee. I end up browsing whatever on my laptop for like an hour before I go and brush. Didn't know that though, thx
>>17388113
I haven't heard of any science on this specifically. However, you're still drinking pretty much the same amount of coffee even if you put milk in it, so I suspect it won't make any difference.
Milk's positive effect on teeth is structural, due to it containing calcium, doesn't affect their colour, and works via the bloodstream, not through contact.
Should I sell my violin?
I played the violin of out passion from I was 15 until I was 19. After that, I started getting discouraged and put it away. I never really got that good. Now, as I'm 23, I realize this "playing music" thing isn't mine, as it's not something I'm motivated to do unless I force myself to, rationally. Ultimately, I'm more of a thinker and prefer writing music.
Still, the violin has had a profound impact on my life. It has impacted my composing in positive ways and it has also become a part of my identity, being part of my life for nearly 5 years. I'm a "guy who knows how the violin works", if you get what I mean. Needless to say, it has great sentimental value to me. Its monetary worth is about $2,500.
Now I'm moving to another town to study composition and production at a university. My rent is high, so I'm not going to make much money to save up to buy things. It will take some years before I can buy all the stuff I want and/or need. This includes a new PC, an electrical piano and equipment for music production (microphone and monitors). As mentioned, I would have to save up money for 1 year to afford a fraction of these things, and possibly 2-3 to get everything. By that time, my studies will have ended.
I'd be grateful for any perspectives on this dilemma. It needs to be said it is in part motivated by my longing for a new computer. One that is a good deal better than the minimum of what I strictly need, as I already have one like that. So I'm impatient and I «want to buy things». Please take this rash mindset of mine into consideration, however, also remember how these new things will also benefit me in my studies. So there's definetily a mix of rationality and emotions pulling me in both directions, which makes it hard for me to see clearly either way.

(2/2)
I think it's safe to say that I won't pick up the violin again, and even if by some miracle I did, I would never get to the level where I'd be able to play it in a way that directly (as opposed to indirectly, as described) would support my career. Still, it does feel wrong to sell something as nice, high value and everlasting as a violin for simple technology that will eventually stop working.
So, should I sell it, or hang in there?
Just hang in there op. If you really are devoting yourself to music, keep it.
I dont undertsand whybyou are so adamant about NOT playing it anymore though. Just play some etudes every now and then
>>17388067
Don't sell it OP, you'll regret it. Sentimental value is irreplaceable. It's a beautiful violin–I'm sure you can find other things to sell to save up for what you want.
