Why are you playing the instrument? Is it a requirement for something or is it a hobby?

If it's just a hobby, there's no point in pushing it every day. You can just drag it out over your several remaining years. That's what I'm doing with drawing. When I have the time, I learn a little bit about a technique or so. In terms of getting good at it, I'm in no hurry, so I don't draw 20 things a day or whatever.

On the other hand, you could try thinking of all the cool shit you could play by learning this instrument thoroughly, in the same way that I wonder if I could draw really good stuff if I practiced every day. See the thing is, I don't feel a huge regret for not being able to draw at that level. I don't know if you will feel the same, Anon.

unfortunately, i do feel a lot of regret for not being better. i really want to be able to play beautiful songs, but the path to get to that level of ability is extremely arduous.

it's the feeling of desperately wanting to be able to run a marathon when you can't even run a mile. you know how painful and how much work it will be to get to that point, and it starts to seem like it's not worth it.

I was thinking of picking up piano again (I never did, again, maybe later, when I can actually pay for lessons)
and I asked my intro to music professor what I should know about it. He said there was a long period where he felt like there was a "plateau" and he didn't seem to get any better with practice. Like he could play some Mozart, but we all know that's just a tip of the iceberg.

Then, one day, he started seeing improvement again. And more and more, until he could perform nice pieces on big stages and write his own music.

So you're kinda out of luck here if you want some benchmark to encourage you. It may very well look like there are points where you don't know if you are progressing or not.

I just zone out all the time. The world has too many flaws to concern yourself with.

Change how you talk to yourself about it.

Tell yourself you are getting better at it (because you are) just by experiencing it.

Imagine yourself as "acting" as someone else who is very sociable then act as that person will. Don't both yourself if it doesn't work out you are "acting" to see if you like that lifestyle.

Just fucking talk to people and don't beat yourself up about how it goes or if you get anxious and it'll get a little bit better.

Masters in CS require the CS sequence, which is Object-oriented Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms. There might be more that you need to know.

I don't know the math requirements because I am a math major, so I ignore it since I have all of it.

Make sure you get your LoRs and take your GRE, Those are usually required.

CS is high in demand, but you can't just walk from a degree into a job. You need to show them that you are actually competent, and not a CS major that just passed through the courses.

Based on all the additional work, it seems maybe finance masters will be easier for me to get into since I have calc/stats aced.

I mention a masters because I know dual-bachelors isn't really recommended.

that's a pretty shitty situation OP. I have ADD and I have also had post concussive disorder, so I can see where they're coming from a bit. it's really easy to get frustrated when your brain won't focus.

obviously your folks both have issues, but you should probably talk about this with your dad rather than your mom. he might have trouble focusing but his condition is pretty stable. he's not trying to recover from brain trauma. so talk to your dad, tell him that them arguing all the time worries you a lot, that it's very upsetting to you, and also that your mom needs a restful environment if her brain is going to heal and you're worried she's not getting that. ask both of them if there's anything you can do to help and make it easier on them.

whether you can help them or not, make sure you take care of yourself too. spend some time out of the house doing things, even if it's just going for a walk. leave the house when they start to argue (unless you're worried it's going to turn physical or something).

one thing you shouldn't try to do too much is arbitrate between them. idk if you're doing that at all, but that can stress you out more. it's also way above your paygrade as their kid. they should be working their own shit out, brain problems or not.
