Find native English speakers, talk to them a lot. English breaks it's own grammar rules and has so many weird dialect/accent things going on that full immersion is really one of the best ways to speak it better.

The best way would obviously be living in an English speaking country, in an English speaking region/block, that is.

Many people who seek fortune abroad and immigrate from my country usually end up living and working together with other immigrants, rarely using any English. So getting a job or at least a job where you have to talk in English daily would be a good way to practise.

Or just join some gaming community, watch films, interviews, debates, anything in English.

But the real easy way to manage your economy is to reduce your expenses.
Have you bought a home or rented? If rented, you could consider finding a cheaper place.
Do you have two cars? Maybe do away with one of them. If your schools are close by, you could simply ride bikes or mopeds. Or public transport.

There are also a host of grants and scholarships that you probably didn't even knew existed. Try researching this, maybe one of you is eligible for a grant or something.

Your relationship cannot bear to not have enough time with each other, so you should prioritize that, even if it means you have to take some student loans. You decide yourself which amounts I believe, so you don't have to enter crippling debt. Maybe just enough for the two of you to gear down to part-time gigs.
