What's a good job for a 20 year old college student with social anxiety? Almost all of the jobs available for people my age is service work that involves tons of social interaction.
I used to have a job as a waiter at my uncles catering hall for three whole years, but I don't want to go back there. It paid well but that job was literal hell for me.

Is being able to get a second chance at life past your 20's a load of bullshit? I want to work towards a different career as the one I've chosen hasn't worked out for me, but as far as jobs and careers go, I don't understand how you'd be able to attain relevant experience in various fields or be appealing to an employer when they could get a guy under 25 who's probably done an apprenticeship who'd cost less to hire.
I read about all these 'it's never too late' stories, but they're usually about people who already had a decent-ish career and skills to begin with and just got bored and needed a change, rather than doing something to actually better their lives and financial position.

It's possible...in some fields. For example, you aren't going to be a doctor without going to medical school. Going to medical school means someone/scholarships supporting you for 10 years, etc.
You aren't becoming an engineer without an engineering degree.
However, you COULD sell financial instruments. You could become a programmer, etc.
The question is how you plan to prove to the potential employer that you are worth a chance.

Have a degree in graphic design. Have done some in-house work experience and voluntary stuff for networking, which got me a few decent paying freelance gigs over the years, but they're just way too infrequent and unstable, so I've had to work a standard minimum wage job on the side.
I'm 29, so my 20's are more or less over now. As for what I want to switch in to, I honestly have no idea. I don't think I'd really care what it is at this point, as long as it pays enough for me to live comfortably and helps me feel like I'm a decent human being. That's probably not the best outlook to have admittedly, but for the moment that's all I'm concerned with.

I have a friend that I've known for quite some time now. over the years, he's become an irritable asshole that literally harasses people for asking him the time of day. he's also an edgy piece of shit that wears a leather jacket and carries a stack of parasyte manga around with him because he thinks it makes him look cool. he also has a thing for stealing. it started in highschool, where he started stealing my lunch, and has progressed to him stealing from 711.
I don't know what to do about him. I'm his only friend, but I can't fucking stand him. He's an embarrassment to be seen with, and he's an embarrassment to his self.
I want to get rid of him, what do I do?

I agree. And I think what you're looking for will definitely come about purely because of the inevitable demand by all of the people who are going to regret their tattoos now that it's such a normal thing.
How do you keep your mood up while trying to lose weight?
While I'm depressed to begin with, being hungry makes me straight-up, I-shit-you-not suicidal, enough that if I don't figure out what it is about, I'll lock myself to the workplace bathroom to self-harm to get my shit sufficiently together to actually get any work done.
I can't smoke during work hours, either, and there's virtually always some kind of food in the break room.
How do you keep your shit together while trying to lose weight?

Hey /adv/ I want to quit smoking for good.
It's been on my mind for the last 2 years. After reading some of its adverse effects I've suddenly mustered the motivation for quitting.
I want to know what are some great ways to keep this motivation going? What are some facts about smoking and quitting smoking that can help me steer clear of cigarettes?
I know that water can help curb cravings, but I'm usually on the go and don't have immediate access to water. Water bottles will last me an hour on average.
What do you do to curb the urge when it strikes?
For example I'm working out of town at a wedding as a photographer, but I have maybe 3-4 hours until I actually do anything.
Anything related to quitting is what I want to read. Motivation, tips and tricks, insults, and the whole works.

I'm currently relapsing after a three month free, but I'll quit again next week. I'm hoping to hold at least 4 months, maybe more.
I'm not saying it's the right mindset, but I'm happy with the fact I'm able to quit more and more longer each time I try.

I've been down the relapse road. It definitely gets easier, and is partially the reason why I'm more motivated than before to actually stop for good. However I want to try cold turkey and need tips to help make the withdrawl symptoms less severe. Thanks for the post anon.

She didn't used to be like this. She has good work ethic, and shares a similar sense of humor and sense of practicality, which make her admirable in my field.
She is a solid friend as well.
Lately I've learned that romantically, she will date a guy for added benefits such as not paying rent, and then when she needs to move suddenly "it's not working".
