So, I've only posted here in regards to my mental obstacles before, and am now need some good /adv/ on my plans for getting out of the gutter.
Bottom line is, I'll never be happy with 9-5's. I ultimately want to generate my own income while being able to focus on creating and learning. I don't like college, and am resitant to going back to a formal education system, especially since I can see just how corrupt it all is now, but know that I could do really well and put 100% of my focus in academic performance.
I would want to study things like Biology/Chemistry, Political Science, History and Philosophy with some art classes mixed in, and can hold my own in a math classroom. Would going back to school and doing really well for a few years catapult me into a better situation for producing income by utilizing these subjects and furthered education?
Mind you, I am not looking for a career, and im not necessarily looking to become dedicated to any of these subjects lifelong (in a job like sense). I don't care about money and am not trying to participate in this hellish social rat race, I just want to be really smart and make enough money to support my parents and fiance. Living in America at the tip of the bible belt, I feel like I've been lied to my entire life. It's taken several years to put the pieces back together, and although I've got a good grip on practical reality, I want to be able to discuss things in detail and really understand what I am talking about.
I know I can learn all these things on my own in my free time (I've already invested a good amount of time doing this with computer programming and interpersonal communication), but I feel like going to college might be my best option as far as being 'successful' in society and having secure finances.

Tough question. The best I have seen this work is to be self-employed at some specialized trade so you can work when you want. A friend of mine does blinds. Do something like that. To learn the skills you will need to be someone's bitch for a while, so just deal with it and be grateful that someone is paying you to learn for the time being.

He did drama in high school, and ultimately loves performing, so he's decided to go back to study dance. He's been taking night classes for dance, and he's got auditions for dance schools coming up. If he gets in and finishes, he'll be earning literally half of what he earns now, but to him, his happiness is worth it. That's what he wants to do, and that's the choice he's going to make. He doesn't want to retire regretting that he didn't follow his passion.
My advice to you is to really think about what you want to do. Explore all your options, but also don't be afraid to go back if you find you've made a mistake and aren't happy.

I'm pretty fat and out of shape. Recently I started going to the gym several times a week and started eating healthier. I informed my roomates about it when I explained why I was refusing to go out for pizza and they started making fun of me for it. It continued like that for some time.
I thought It was just guys being guys, but when I went to eat at my parents house they gave me the same thing, calling me a loser for not wanting to eat only a small part of the steak they made for me. Why do people do this?

i could really use advice.
im a new server at a busy chain restaurant, and i accidentally stole about 50 bucks from my job. i signed papers acknowledging that the money is missing at a loss for the company, then i got home and i discovered that i had it after all.
I knew of course that i have to bring the money back. even though they'll likely never find out about it, obviously its not worth the risk of losing my job. BUT, heres where i fucked up. its been a couple days. I should have gone in immediately, but i didnt. i figured i'd just explain before my next shift. but now im realizing how dumb that is. it only makes it seem dishonest to have waited this long....
so how should i handle this? how likely am i to be fired if i go in tomorrow and explain and apologize a few days after the fact? have i completely fucked myself for not coming clean immediately?
jesus i really cant afford to lose this job.

They already know the money is missing immediately. The person who does the paper work will immediately contact the manager and he will have to look through all the transactions for the day. If there is no discrepancy then something is wrong. He will then look for when the money was off in terms of end shifts and analyze the cashiers on the register. You will definitely be a suspect.
Best you can do is put the extra money in your starting till and don't say a word about it. The missing money is found and everything should be balanced out.

I was ambushed by a bunch of MLM (multi-level marketing) followers on the ol' social media the other day after I made a discussion post requesting that folks don't post their recruitment pleas on that group page, per the set rules (admin was not reachable). Lots of "stay at home mom" types reacted with utter rage. "Why can't I be a special snowflake and post on a page I shouldn't? Why can't I break the rules and exploit all these 10,000 unwitting people, who are just here to rummage? Why can't I rope them into buying shitty product month after month under the pretense they will ultimately make it big on residuals?!"
Long story short, some people agreed with me (read: knew better about MLMs and stayed the hell away, and acknowledge I was right) and others were butthurt that I called them out on their pyramidy shit.
I deleted the thread after everything was said and done (I didn't pansy out and let the comments roll in until it was "over"), but some people decided to get unnecessarily personal and the MLM hivemind thought they got the better of me.
So, guys... What's the best route of petty revenge I can take here? I have the names of the primary agitators, some emails and phone numbers... Huehuehue. I want to wreak some havoc (without getting caught).
