Probably isn't the best place for a little medical advice but:

When I was about 2 years old I was sick or something and my parents gave me Motrin.
My parents couldn't wake me up. They tried slapping me and making loud noises and I couldn't wake up (don't know what the medical term for this is). Eventually they got me to regain consciousnesses by putting me in a bathtub full of ice cold water. They told the doctor and he said it was something else that caused it.
My parents gave me Motrin again the next day and the same thing happened, so they didn't give it to me anymore.

My question is would I have a similar allergic reaction to it today?
It's been 20 years, so I assume some sort of development has gone into this, but I want to make sure I'm not allergic/this doesn't happen again if I take a similar drug.

all I can do is guess, but personally I wouldn't risk it. take something else.
>>
No, that happened because your two-year-old liver had no enzyme to degrade the ibuprofen.

My little niece's lips turned blue from children's ibuprofen.

Motrin is a drug that is prescribed to people. Consult a doctor on the issue. Being knocked unconsciously most likely from a drug is not a sign that you should try it again for a third time.

is it bad to have a racial preference in dating? I'm an Indian man and recently I went out with two different black women who were interested in me. They both seemed to like me a lot and want second dates, but for some reason I just lost interest in them. I'd really strongly prefer to date someone of my own ethnicity. I guess I find some white/asian women attractive too, but not black women, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I found Indian women the most attractive.

I feel like it lowers my dating pool (given there's really not that many of us around here compared to white/black people) but I'd probably be happiest with a brown girl.

Anyone else relate?

I know this is a strange thing to comprehend, but black people are just brown people that are called black people. They aren't actually black, just like white people don't look like paper. I know, it's mindblowing.
>>
>>17491261
Yeah no this isn't true at all. There's obviously genetic differences between South Asian people (even spread among those in the region) and those from Africa.

Don't tell me you seriously think race is a social construct. This preference of mine might also come from my family, to be honest they are all pretty racist. My mother is openly scared of black people, I'd feel embarrassed to tell her I was dating a black woman. I don't hate black people or anything (a lot of them are great musicians/athletes and so on) but I don't really want to date black women.
>>
It's not racist. People are made of several things. People are made of skin, of bones, people have hair and lips, and all these people are different. It is perfectly normal to like certain people more than other. It is perfectly normal to like certain hair or certain lips more than others. If you like lips are you a lipsist, if you like hair are you a hairist? Then why would liking certain races make you a racist? It's a preference, racism is a word that is about behavior. You can have a racial preference and display racist behaviors, you can have only one of these traits, or none.

I recently graduated with Bachelor of Architecture from one of the top programs in the nation, but after talking to some of the practitioners and firm owners I feel like I've chosen a meme degree. Employment doesn't seem like a problem since everyone in my peer is getting jobs somewhere, but in the long run the field doesn't seem as rewarding as I thought it would be (you'll be lucky to have salary of 80 to 90 k with about 10 years of experience and it's probably the most unstable jobs out there).

Many people say don't go into whatever profession for the money, but lets be honest here: money should be one of the factors on choosing your career, since I actually do want to own a property and support my family one day.

Has anyone changed their careers because the payoff was bad? Do you think you made a good decision? Or am I just overreacting in general?

you already got the degree, why don't you give it a few years, see if you like it any better. if you don't, then ride it out while looking for something else, and the next time the job market takes a shit and you're on the unemployment line, take the opportunity to get into another field.

but if you just try to walk into a particular field right after completing a degree in something completely different, you're just going to look indecisive and unwilling to commit. plus you're going to be back at square 1, more like square 0 or -1 without a degree.

>>17491228
>you'll be lucky to have salary of 80 to 90 k
you'll be lucky to have a salary of half that in 10 years unless you go back and get a whole other degree, or get welding certs or certifications in some other trade and get hired someplace that offers a lot of overtime. the fuck world are you living in sonny

But wouldn't it be better if I went back to school and start fresh as soon as possible if I already know that I'm going to end up poor and at a dead end job for the rest of my life?

I feel like it's similar to making a bad investment. If you know that it will be bad, and it will get worse over time, isn't it best to take out the investment when it's not too late?

And of course I'm going back to school to get another degree. I'd rather suffer now than to suffer the rest of my life.

How do i get over the fear of failure?

Ever since i was a young teenager (i'm almost 19 now) i have wanted to be a comedian but i'm scared as shit to give my 100% because i don't want to have the realization that "oh i'm bad at this and i will never be good".

It paralyzes me and makes me not not want to do anything because its safer to think that "oh if i did try i could do it" than actually doing it.

If you strive and seek improvment you can improve.
But you cant even begin to get to that point if your afraid of failure.
By that very thought process you are already failing.
But that failure only means as much as you let it mean. You can see it as a tool for improvement, a lesson to be learned and be happy you can walk away from failure better than before you failed,

Or you can just mope around feeling sorry for not being born a winner.

Can you name a comedian who was an astounding success without any hickups or practice?
Why are you holding yourself to that expectation. Stop it.

So I have a weird question but is it possible to surpass your genetics? My genetics that were passed down were a chubby face, and a natural double chin. Can I work hard and surpass my genetics that were passed down? or will I hit a wall eventually and need surgery or something stupid like that

Being fat is not genetic. Being fat is caused by eating more calories than you burn. You can lose fat but it is not a matter of surpassing your genetics. It is a matter of changing your eating habits toward a more healthy lifestyle, one day at the time.

Why do people pursue long distance relationships when they could easily just date someone within their area?

> It's so easy to find a compatible girlfriend
Fuck off, you hot normie
>>
I've been best friends with someone for about two years and I have also had strong feelings for him for about the same time. He lives far away so I never felt the need to pursue a more than platonic relationship with him until recently. About three months ago I asked him out, and our relationship as friends has grown stronger and I feel we have a very strong bond as boyfriend and girlfriend. I felt the need to ask him out due to the fact that I had always planned on us going out (we had always been clear about our feelings) and that I was sick of waiting. I've never met anyone that compares to him, and I would rather have a strong relationship with him than a weak and harmful relationship with someone close by.
>>
>>17491212

I've been in two long distance relationships. They didn't work. I probably wouldn't try it again - I had the benefit of being able to travel to see them every weekend, but most don't, and you need a secure plan to move in together and unite in the same place if you're going to try it for more than a couple of months.

With that said, fuck boundaries. I grew up in this city. I know so many people that it's hard to date without some kind of expectation of who I am or who I used to be. We know all of the same people. The people here suck, and I'm not desperate to be in a relationship. "Dating someone in my area" might mean settling, and I'll never settle, even if it means being alone.

Although I'm off to an ivy, how risky is it to major in something like film/music if I'm trying to get into or make connections with the entertainment industry?

You know that connections alone won't get you a job, right?

Extremely.

But if you're okay with failure and doing it out of passion then go for it.

If you're just looking for a payday you have better options.

there is no such thing as a fat woman that is cute, also what does your sexuality have to do with your gender?

I think that I am slowly dying. I have been getting progressively worse over the past few months. I'm 20. I have constant joint pain, poor circulation, extreme fatigue, and a few other problems I can't think of right now. I haven't felt anything in a long time. I only feel emotions maybe a few times a month for no longer than a few minutes. I've been to multiple doctors and they can't find anything. It seems like my body is just falling apart. I don't take drugs or alcohol.

Any suggestions as to what I should do?

How thin is a pencil dick? I've been googling, and getting a wide range of results. I think measuring around my dick is like 3.75" if I remember right.

So it's definitely below average width, but is that a pencil dick?
