Alright /adv/ this isn't so much a cry for help, as it is literal advice. I'm taking a gap year from college this year, but I don't want to lose what I have learned thus far from my dating game. Ergo, I know certain things to do and not to do when dating, but I also don't want to become a social retard.
What are the best ways to date around for those of you that are no longer in college, or are also taking a gap year?
P.S: Already have an OkCupid and have gone on a couple of dates, have gone onto meetup.com and been to a single meetup event so far (going to a second one tonight). Any other thoughts?

Does it really matter if you ask a girl out over text or Facebook message?
I work with this girl who is quitting soon and we we friendly but I am not going to work with her again before she quits. She added me on Facebook to send me bird videos after I entertained her with some from /wsg/ when we were working.
I mean, if she attracted to me at all, will my method of asking her out affect her answer? She's going to say or no based on whether she wants to fuck me (probably not). I just feel like a huge pussy bitch asking her this way, especially because I don't have a car and live with my parents.
Please help me. I like her a lot. I barely even care about fucking her I just want to kiss a girl, I'm almost 22.

She's string you along. Next time you talk to her in person say, you met someone and you want to see where it goes. Either she'll be actually interested in you, or furious, which is still indirectly a good thing if you are believable enough.

Not the original responder, but putting in my two cents here. Just because her decision to not talk to you may have been fair, it doesn't mean that she reserves the right to string you along.
I agree with the other poster, she is leaving you as a backup option. The only way she would get back together with you is if/when she realizes that she doesn't have as much of a chance with other guys. You're just there "just in case".
You deserve to treat yourself better than that op. You deserve someone that will treat you like it doesn't matter what's going on in your individual lives. Someone that will work past schedules (not schedual), and make the sacrifice.
Until you find that, you're better off taking care of yourself, and fucking random bitches.

American who has never really traveled here. I just finished school in July with a B.S. in physics and minors in math and econ. I've been offered a year-long internship for a lab in in Vienna.
I really want to do it, and it sounds like a pretty perfect fit. I'd love to go to Austria, and it's an English speaking facility, so I don't need to worry about being completely fluent. And the position itself looks good.
Thing is, since it's an internship, the pay is only 14,000 Euros for the year.
I don't know if I can make this work. I'm not a materialist person, I don't drink or do drugs or go shopping or have any expensive hobbies, but 14,000 (which according to google is about $15,500) is cutting it really close. I probably spent less than that living in an apartment in college, but this is a foreign country, and I really have no idea what the costs of living are or what unexpected expenses I'd run into.
I could ask my parents for money, and they'd give it to me, but I'd really rather not. It's kind of a let-down, I think, to finish school, and think "Yay, I'm independent, I'm on my own" and then have the first thing I do is ask my parents for more money.
The facility offers full-time positions,and I'll apply to them, but all of them ask for at minimum two years of experience, which I obviously don't have. I guess I might get lucky, but it's definitely not something to count on.
I really want to go oversees, but I'm just not sure this is a good idea, particularly when I could find a $60,000 or more position somewhere here in the states.
Advice?

You should ask the people offering the internship about it; students (even foreigners) in the EU usually qualify for a government stipend when they pay their own rent - I know it's considered an internship but there still might be a program where you would have an additional source of income from the government.
Also, look online for apartment listings in the area just to get a general feel for how much your living expenses will be.
I've lived in Europe and visited Vienna - it is a beautiful city and living abroad was a life changing experience. Highly recommended. Congrats OP

Not the same guy, but being that your capable enough to get this internship in the first place, just do a cost of living analysis on the area. Calculate how much a year you need to live there, and if the 14,000 doesn't cover it and you can't cover the rest with saving or a part time job, I'd say deny it, only because it truly isn't feasible for you.

I keep fucking up at work. I'm terrible at customer service and I keep forgetting shit. It's been almost a year as well, and it's been nothing but stress. I needed money and I thought that maybe it would help with my terrible social skills, but nothing's changed. I'm anxious all day and every week I can't stop thinking about work. Even on friday, when I'm done with work, I'm always thinking about monday when I have to start again.
I need money, but I want to quit. I'm only there part time but it's so stressful even though this would be easy work for everyone else.
