Not sure if I should post this here, but you guys might know.
I randomly can't sleep. I don't work out, but I work on my feet all day, sometimes 10 hours a day, doing something physical for a majority of that time (CNC machinist).
I don't understand why I can't sleep. I think it has something to do with my body rather than my mind, because I'm not any more or less stressed out than usual or have anything big on my mind. And I'm -tired- as hell, but like still "up", so what gives?
This usually happens when I've been working hard
Diet is decent too. Drink plenty of water. Non caffeinated drinks after 12ish. No alcohol.

if you're that active you've gotta give yourself time to chill. take an hour before bed to read, colour in or do something else non-stimulating. when the insomnia kicks in I'm always thinking at like 1000 mph so I do the most boring thing I can think of, like copying down recipes or filling a blank page with circles

/adv/, I really blew it. To make things simple, I tried to kill myself. It was the lowest point of my life and someone I cared about betrayed me. I told them it was their fault and attempted suicide.
Huge, serious, horrible, consequences occurred. This was two months ago.
I've been able to push myself trough everything leading to the situation, the outcome, etc. but I can't forgive myself for threatening my own life on someone else. How can I go on? This guilt is eating me away and I can hardly take it anymore. I can't function at my job properly and my friends are all worried about me.
TL;DR I'm a usually rational person that had a temporary and incredibly strong lapse in reason. How do I forgive myself?

That kind of stuff really messes your head and prevents you thinking straight. That kind of heavy stuff is easier to progress after you can call it a thing from the past.

I really need some insight here, /adv/.
Here's the problem:
I've been in a relationship for 2+ years with a guy who has an obsession with his phone (social media) and his games. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind his hobbies but I feel like he is too dependant on them to where it negatively affects our relationship.
Whenever we are chilling at home, he will be lost in his own little world for hours on end. I try to interact with him and it goes nowhere unless it's about whatever he is wrapped up in. I don't want to talk about his shitty mmo or his favorite fucking subscribers on jewtube. He shows no interest in actually spending time with me. When we are out places he can't even be bothered to start a conversation and I'm tired of being the instegator. Same for our sex life.
He can go the entire day without messaging me, but one simple message from his online buddies and he answers in a flash.
This has been a problem from the get go for me but he never seen it as one. Is it really just me? Am I asking for too much by simply wanting his time and attention? What can I do to resolve this?

Been there, done that. Only thing you can do is have a serious chat about it, during which he'll promise to try more, but most likely it will only work for a while. I was in a relationship like this and when I one day realised I was lonelier in it than I'd ever been before I walked. Give it a shot, maybe he'll listen, but don't drag it on if you start to feel actually awful about it. Some attention and time isn't too much to ask in a relationship.

I turn 21 on Monday.
I just quit my job of 5 years, don't go to uni, nothing's going well.
In the future I just want a decent paying job, that gives me some free time to do the things I want and have hobbies.
I want to go to uni but I don't know what I want to do, I got decent marks at high school but didn't try or do my assignments in year 12, so I don't even know if I'm smart or not.
I spend most of my time hanging with friends at the pub or watching Netflix.
What should I do /adv/? Life wasn't meant to be this shitty, I don't wanna continue going no where.

I really enjoy the philosophy of religion. I think there are some compelling cosmological/teleological arguments for the existence of god, and enjoy the works of Aquinas, Augustine, even Plantiga. But, every time I go to a church it seems really watered down, like they're just pandering to the masses.
I feel like I'd enjoy being in a religious, intellectual, community, but I can't seem to find one. Any advice?
