TL;DR: Using a fogger is a bad idea. Fruit flies are attracted to fruits and other sugar sources. I would put baits with sugar, orange juice and boric acid or imidacloprid.

I'm currently at a trade focused school that's regionally accredited, college level, offering B.S. degrees. I would like to work with databases, sql, mongodb, but I hear those jobs are hard to get into. My school offers a database centered "Data Analysis" degree and an Information Technology" degree that is more networking/system admin focused.

Someone recommended that because people won't hire someone for a database job without extensive qualifications, I'd be better off with the IT degree and then get some DB certifications on the side that way I could still start off in like help desk level support and then move around over time. I don't know if that advice has merit.

I did various IT jobs in my 20s then got fired and launched my own company after turning 30, some important things I've learned about IT:

>99% of degrees and education are worthless, or at least don't help over common sense
>Employers seek demonstrable experience first, if you have this you move to the front of the selection queue
>Therefore taking a couple months to learn Programming_Language_X or Technology_Y or Platform_Z while building something useful in it will save you lots of time, money and effort against getting a degree while providing far better chances of getting a job as a result

It's frustrating at the same time, I just got my license a few weeks ago and I'm getting used to driving. But if there's ever an area I don't feel comfortable driving in, or i tell her my sister needs the car or its raining really bad, she'll just disregard it and either getting super pisssy until I do it or put me in a situation where I need to do it. For example I told her I didn't want to drive one of our mutual friends home because they lived super far away in an unfamiliar area. I go and pick her up that same day, her and her friend get in the car and immediately she asks to go pick something up at her house. It's just frustrating. I wouldn't do that to her.

Thanks, I've never quit a job before because I've only ever had seasonal work and internships.

Write a polite letter of resignation, thanking them for the opportunity to learn and be a part of their business. Set a clear final date of employment, two weeks out (I'm generally pretty generous, I'll go up to the Friday past my two weeks, so like two extra days if I put in my notice on a Wednesday).

Pull aside your supervisor either at the beginning or the end of your shift, and firmly but politely let them know that you're leaving to look for other opportunities, that you appreciated working with them, and you'll be happy to help pass on any current projects to another member of the team while you transition out.

If they ask you why you're leaving, don't tell them it's a shit job, no matter how much you want to. Leave gracefully and say you're looking for career growth in another field you're passionate about. Your next employer may ask for a reference, and if your supervisor is willing to give one, good.

Make sure you have a good story for your next employer as to why you quit. "It's a shitty job" is not a good answer.
