Also, they're rarely very useful all by themselves--they work best when used in combination with some kind of therapy.

anti depressants are meant to treat a chemical imbalance in the brain. as there is no way to measure that imbalance, we have no way of knowing who is actually depressed. so a lot of it is guess work and a lot of people end up hopped on pills with weird side effects that are addictive and ultimately not much different than certain 'street drugs' and still not finding happiness.

the first thing you should do before oyu take pills is examine why you are sad, and try to treat that problem

I'd agree with this person. Technical normally refers to more 'real' things, typically speaking degrees are more towards theoretical/academic side of things.

I would imagine you'll largely focus on how to do something, rather than the theory behind it.
