Hey guys, I'm 22 and about 23 this December. But I'm still unemployed since I'm still a college student. I really want to graduate next year. Some of my classmates already graduated last month and it makes me feel pathetic. I fail some subjects because I'm a lazy ass person, and with that I need to repeat another semester.
Now I'm about finishing half of those subjects, but slowly I'm losing motivation to study. Like I don't read books, articles or journals on my spare times, only do my assignments on the last day before it will be submitted the next day.
Guys.. I'm really stressed here, I want to be a good person in the society, I don't want to be a failure. I'm embarrassed for myself and it even worse when I have to see my parents who keeps spending their money on my education. I want to make them proud, happy, and I really wish I could pay them back for what they've been doing for me all these times.
I really appreciate your guys help, so please, come at me with your motivations.

dude you already said it

use your parents as your motivation

make them proud and make money so you can take care of them someday
>>
That you didn't graduate already doesn't make you pathetic. People are allowed to return to school at any point in their lives. I have a friend who was supposed to complete a degree in four years... it has been six. They were supposed to graduate last May, they even told people this and got everyone hyped... oops, they didn't graduate at the last second.... It's whatever. The important part is they're still taking classes. Everything is alright.

I guess i should try ebay first but...

I ordered something on ebay a while back and got sent the wrong item. I contacted the seller but they never got back to me, so i went to ebay. They refunded the 160 bucks i spent once i shipped out the item i had originally received

The item came back to me like 3 weeks later with a label on it saying it was undeliverable

Now I have my 160 bucks AND the item that i tried returning. It's been about a month and I haven't heard anything from ebay or the seller.

Am i free to keep the item or is there something im missing here?

I'd say you're in the clear if the person for some reason messages you now instead of earlier like they should have just say you sent it back a month ago and figured they'd already received it. They complain about it just pretending(ly) assume it was "lost" in the mail. Not your problem and you shouldn't feel bad since you already attempted to do the right thing. Just look at it as a lucky break?
>>
>>17738868
hmm, do you think selling the item on ebay could fuck me over?

i have no need for it. i really just wanna sell it
>>
>>17738889
Sell it on letgo or an alternative selling site

>Have grad degree in STEM, am at least considered personable by some, $85k/year, own car, live in apartment, 26 years old, 6'0'', 170 lbs, lift, run, travel, read, write, play instrument
>Always had objectively attractive girlfriends from ages 19->25. Considered myself a good lookin' dude because I was attracting these types of women

>Get broken up with last year, haven't had a gf in 12 months
>Get on tinder and other dating apps, get very few matches
>Spend free time in new city bettering myself personally
>Still no luck

So my question, things like Tinder make me feel like shit because I hear of people having success and then I get literally nothing. This of course makes me feel unattractive and the entire thing is a downward spiral. So what should I do? Get off these crappy dating apps/sites and continue to focus on myself until the right person comes along? I look young for my age so I'm guessing that doesn't help, but am starting to feel pretty lonely even though I'm typically an outgoing person

Damn bro, you must really be fuckin up. People with not even a fraction of that have hotties.

Nah but seriously, just focus on yourself, let the women come to you. I mean, if all this is true, they should be flocking...

I moved to a new city a year ago that is known to be shitty for transplants so there's that?

Maybe online dating is legit for men that are considered very attractive and I'm just missing the mark, but have a lot of other things to offer lmao? Looking on the bright side here
>>
>>17738734
It could be that.

Online dating sucks in my opinion, it's just a dick/successful men buffet for women. Maybe you're not attractive enough, maybe your profile is weird or bad. I'm not sure. Post profile? You don't have to include photo if you don't want to.

Man up and go to her house for it. Don't take no for an answer, she either has it in her dwelling or she threw it away (since one way of getting revenge or closure on you is to throw items of yours away).

Why can't she pick you up 50 miles away? Why can't she come with her stepfather to pick you up?
>>
>>17738686
It's Japan, so 50 miles = two hour train ride. Only her stepfather knows how to drive. 10 miles means she could personally come to pick me up via train.
>>
Ask her if you think it's alright to meet her stepfather. You'll have to meet him someday, I actually think it'd be better in a situation like this where just the two of you can get to know each other.

Guys, I have Rectal Bleeding for about a month. It's not the first time, but this one have been last for a month, so whenever I go to toilet, I have this mild bleeding, so I'm worried.
The first time happened about 4 years ago, and it only last for days (less than a week).
Now after I read some articles about it, and read some of the causes, I'm scared.
Can anyone tell me how to treat it, so it could be better, cured, without going to see a doctor?
Because I'm still living with my parents and I'm totally got no money for such thing like go to a hospital by myself.

How do I make friends? It's my last year at college, and I have a total of 0 friends. I'm the only loner in my classroom, I just can't take the first step and initiate a conversation. I can't even say hi to anyone because my stomach sinks and my heart starts pounding like crazy. I'm so tired of being alone. I look a litte intimidating so people don't initiate conversations with me either and even if they do I get so nervous that I probably come off like a dick. I have decided that life doesn't have a meaning if you don't have a friend, someone you can call when you feel like shit or when you are happy and want to share the feeling. Someone you can travel the world with. Noone is going to remember that I was here, it will be like I never existed and it makes me feel like crap. Please give me advice, I really need it.

Do universities in your country have clubs/societies? I would recommend turning up at one of those, but don't go for the most popular ones on campus where you'll be a person amongst hundreds, just choose a small 5-15 people club where you've got the best chance of getting along with people. The will like having a new member and the fact you've turned up invites people to talk to you.
>>
>>17738595
I'll be your friend, anon.

Do this, first and foremost:
>>17738611

But just make bants with people in class. I know, having no friends sucks, but nobody is gonna think you're weird if you suddenly decide to start socializing. The most freeing thing in the world is realizing that you don't really matter all that much. You're a blip in someone's life if you say something awkward, and perhaps the best thing in their life if you make a good connection. Practice by looking people in their eye and smiling. Then, just say a few things.
>>
Thank you very much for your replies
>>17738611
Yeah, but they're not that small. I turned up to a club meeting 2 weeks ago, I couldn't say a word during the event because there was 60 people and anyone came with a group of friends already. So I spoke with one of the core members of the club after the event when most of the crowd was gone. I was nervous but I could speak a little since we shared common interests. There was a part of the club a few days ago, there's no way I could go and leech onto that one person throughout the night. I will wait for the smaller activites they said they would announce soon which will be like sub-clubs within the club.

>>17738622
I'm too much a coward for that, I can't even say hi to people because of the fear of rejection, I know that noone cares about me or even remember if I did something dumb but even a negative feedback in that glimpse of time would be enough to ruin my whole week. I'm too emotionally weak.
I already look people in the eye and smile, but when I can't support that with words (cuz my mind just goes 404 and stops producing thoughts) people start to think that I don't speak to them because I feel above them. I also talk with a lisp when I'm nervous so that's another reason to make me scared shitless of talking.

A married woman who I've been talking to told me she was unhappy with her husband even before they got married. She says that he doesn't give a shit about her at all and completely ignores/resents her. They've been married for about a year. She's telling me I make her happy and she wants to leave him to be with me. We've never screwed around or anything like that. Just talked and hung out a lot over the past couple of months.

What is my best course of action here? I really like this girl but I've felt nothing but guilt ever since. I don't cheat or help cheat.
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>17738574
You have two possibilities here:

1. She's telling the truth and she legitimately regrets marrying who she did. In that case, feel it out, take it slow. Many people marry someone they don't really like, or they think being married will make everything better, or they think being married to someone will be different than dating them. People are stupid, whether they're in love or lying to themselves. I know the feeling of guilt, but honestly, you need to figure out whether or not she's real or not before you decide you're going to fuck her pre/post divorce.

2. She's lying, either about how happy you make her or her desire to leave him. Tons of wives start cheating but can never really make the move to divorce.

Again, you gotta feel her out. If it seems genuine, and you wanna be with her...lay out the groundwork for it to happen. If not, and you're not gonna fuck her, leave it alone.
>>
Never done this but it seems risky because she will probably think you're obligated to be with her if she divorces her husband.

Off the cuff, I would personally tell her that you're gonna give her two months to decide what she wants to do. You don't want her to divorce her husband because of you. You want her to make the decision independently, and, once done, maybe see about a date or something.
>>
>>17738600
>>17738599
Thanks for the advice. It does sound like what you described. She said she married him because she felt like things would get better after the fact and they never did I just told her to give it a couple of months and make the decision on her own. I told her that I don't want to be responsible for breaking them up. I'm gonna take it as slow as possible. Still feel like an ass kinda but if she's telling the truth I guess they would have broken up eventually anyways.

Is it weird if I add the hot girl from work on facebook? I don't think she has any friends from work on there but I have a bunch of FB friends from work.

I've been there for like a year and a half, she's been there for a few months. I don't know what's socially acceptable. Sometimes she smiles at me and acts really enthusiastic with me but she probably smiles at everyone.

Hey, I really need help here guys.

So I (22) met this girl (19), and I really liker her. She comes from a good family that raised her with great values. She is well read, level headed. She doesn't subscribe to that whole sjw identity politics clusterfuck.

But then yesterday she drops a bombshell on me, and tells me she is homeschooled and actually 16.

Now the legal age of consent here is 16, so it's nothing illegal, but I still feel conflicted, even though I know I like her more than other girls I've met, I am worried about the social implications.

I talked to a friend (27) who is quite successful in the city arts scene since he is dating someone who is 17, and according to him, I'm not sure how much I believe him, he thinks that the younger generation is more in line with his conservative views and thus end up being "less trouble" and "more trustworthy" than girls I guess around our age.

Sounds a little jaded, but I really don't know. Just feeling confused right now.

She's 16 and sheltered. Give her two or three more years and her personality will be the complete opposite of what it is now. Same goes for your friend's girlfriend.

My 24 year old friend got with a 16 year old girl and we all looked down on him but deep down inside we secretly envied him for a bit. BUT

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT hear me out.

He's pussywhipped as hell! His last 3 gf's all had him by the fucking balls so bad that we had to break them up.

Now, he's 8 years older than this girl but she has him completely by the fucking balls as well. Naturally we are no longer envious of him and don't even consider him a man.

So if you're going to do this, make sure you KEEP YOUR FUCKING BALLS, and don't let the girl take them. It's more pathetic getting handle by a young girl than by a grown woman. Please listen to me OP. Don't be a fucking pussywhipped faggot, promise me this and you can totally make it work.

I recently made an online dating account and found a girl who has many common interests. The thing is, she deleted her account after a few days before my anxious self got the nerve to message her. Feeling dejected, I decided to watch interviews of her favorite artist and stumbled upon one of her comments (I can tell from the profile pic). So do I message her through youtube and risk coming off as a creepy stalker or wait it out and bank on her reactivating her dating account sometime soon?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Eh, what do you have to lose? I understand someone thinking youre creepy can seem like a big deal, but it's really not. Who cares if this one chick thinks you're creepy? You're likely not going to come in contact with her any other way, given the situation, so if she rejects you whatever. You'll move on.

Anyway, only other thing I gotta note is consider why she deleted her account. She might have done it because she found someone.
Regardless though, take the shot. If only for your own self improvement. Just send her a message like "Sorry if this is out of the blue, I thought I might have seen your profile on X site, just wondering if that was you?"

That breaks the ice a bit without being too forward. If she responds you can go on about your similar interests.
>>
Don't just show up and start talking about how attractive and interesting you think she is, like you might on the dating site. Just say hey, say that you saw her profile and were checking out the artist (nice surprise) and ask if she's still looking (find out why her accounts deactivated). Something like that.

Also, there's no chance in hell I would go through my youtube mail (it had 10,000 messages back in 2008). And if I get tagged there's a 95% chance I wont notice or will just ignore it. Messaging on youtube isn't easy.
>>
If she was open to being approached by men who want to date her, she wouldn't have deleted her profile.

You want her to watch CNN?
>>
>>17738535
Fox News is a lifestyle choice, honestly. As someone that wants to work in, and will work in media soon, let me tell you this much:

*Almost* all media sources carry some for of bias, not on purpose, but because people in the media interpret different things differently. It's no secret a large amount of people in the media are "liberal" or "left-leaning" (for reasons that won't be discussed here). That doesn't mean that MSNBC will always lie or present biased facts when it comes to Republicans. It means that they're going to be harder on the right/Republicans. It also doesn't mean Fox News tells straight lies, it means that they're knowing catering to a largely right-leaning audience.

You'll often hear that Bloomberg is unbiased, and in my opinion, they're probably as close to unbiased as we'll ever get.

Regardless, need to tell your mom to diversify her news sources. That, and stop watching so much damn TV. It's called the boob tube/idiot box for a reason.

>>17738552
CNN isn't terribly biased. They're just more about the "hot story". I find them shoddy, desu.
>>
>>17738535
You can't cure somebody who doesn't want cure and in this case, you don't even have any power to attempt it. You could always pass her a news paper or some actual documentaries but if she built up a certain world view already, then getting rid of it is a pretty hard task for her and obviously for you too.

>>17738573
Obviously all media sources are biased, it comes with being written by humans, who are all biased too; also obviously some aim for certain demographics ... but FOX and similar Murdoch crap publish so much wrong shit, that they are hardly news sources at this point and more of a parody. Respectable sources do tend to have reporting standards.

http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/tv/fox/
10% of actual truths is below parody actually, I doubt even outright paid propaganda like RT is a bad.

How do I improve my look?

What would you guys suggest? I am thinking about dropping the 8 week course because it's too much work for what I'm doing right now and I feel like it would allow me to work on calculus. The class in question is English II, and it's surprisingly hard to keep track of online. I currently have financial aid set up, so I think that dropping the class will cost more money than just failing it(I could realistically get a C, but my other grades would suffer.) I don't want to talk to my parents about it because I don't want to seem like I'm a failure who us wasting money and drops classes because it's fun.

P.S. English II is not a prerequisite for anything I need.

I'd drop it if it's fucking you up. In my personal opinion, if you can avoid taking a failing grade, that's optimal, especially if efforts in one class are taking away your potential in others. Especially if you don't need it.

Hey /adv/, I called the suicide hotline earlier and am feeling much better now, however the lady I spoke to gave me the name of a website that can help with depression issues. Fucking feel you.

Was some years ago in the same situation like you.

It feels like a never ending spiral that you can't escape.
If you have the feeling that you finaly made it you are right back in it because of some stupid shit that makes you feel bad again

Then you think that you want to change every fucking shit that goes wrong you do it still wrong.

Wanted to take the emergency exit(suicide) but than i realized that it's the way of a coward.

Started to play piano and paint some shit.
Every time i felt bad i painted my "Feelings" on a paper and burned it..
>>

you can try to call the hotline again and ask for the website? they're here to help you and they probably have an organized list of websites that they recommend to others, including the one the lady mentioned.

haven't been where you are at before op, so i'm sorry i cant relate. but just saying i'm glad you're feeling better and i hope you'll never be afraid to reach out for help again.
>>
>>17738456
I write a lot to get the feelings out, mostly decentish poetry no one will ever read. And the reason I haven't attempted is because of my family. Two years ago my 19 year old cousin (i was 21 at the time) hung himself. It hurt my family and myself more than I can put into words (and still does, God his birthday every year is so horrible). I can't do that to them. That's why I called and That's partially why I want to find this site the lady recommended with shit as the third and final word. She said it helps in many different ways and I really want to find it.
And I'm glad you have an outlet, like you said, you know how it is and how no matter how good life is you can still spiral hard for no fucking reason. Keep going anon, I know hearing that from someone who has trouble with it themselves may not mean much, but I hope it means something.
