Hey /adv/ I could use an outside perspective and advice on an odd situation I found myself in.
Starting this year of college I notice a really cute girl in one of my classes, and she starts to get involved in a club I am in. Periodically she would drop bizarre "hints" to get me interested I guess? Things like saying "we could sit together at graduation if we got married" and other less forward hints.
I finally got the stones to ask her out on Tuesday and she accepted. The date is coffee tomorrow morning, but ever since then she has been avoiding me at club activities and flirting with other guys. Is she playing hard to get? Having second thoughts? Or justing teasing me?

How do I make friends in college?
I used to like being alone but now its put me in a pretty deep depression. I'm sure I have social anxiety so talking to random people is next to impossible. I don't do anything other than go class, the gym, and my dorm. I've looked through the clubs on campus and none have any of my interest.

You just got to get out there make yourself look available and happy. Warm smiles and a friendly hello will go a long way. You will not hit it off with most. Although if you put a smile on someone's face you might see them tomorrow and have something else to say. Because as you know if you just keep doing what are doing no-one is coming up and trying to be friendly. It took me 5 years to learn this. To sum it up, make others happy about themselves and other's will be drawn to you.

Was my drink spiked?
I went on a date with this guy, and he did not give me a great feeling. I had a panic attack on the date since I got nervous. We were chain smoking in the car, and then we went to Walgreens so he could get cigarettes. He bought me water (also bought me dinner that night). When I drank the water I got this intense head rush a few minutes after, but I'm not sure if the nicotine was kicking in just then or what. I didn't faint or lose consciousness, but I remember not being able to perceive things that well, and although I was like that before the water (I couldn't listen to him well all night since I was that nervous) I felt like I was just a lot more relaxed yet still nervous. It's difficult to explain. I don't remember well what happened when he gave me the bottle of water, whether the seal was undone or not when I took a sip. I didn't black out though, I do remember basically what happened but not the fine details. I still felt so odd after I drank the water, but it very well could have been the nicotine mixing with my anxiety. He didn't seem like the type to do that, but you never know people. He had mentioned he was an addict though on the date. What do you think? Is this normal? Was it just my anxiety? The water didn't taste funny and didn't change colors or anything. I felt like I wasn't driving well and was having an out of body experience.

Yeah we stopped talking. Sometimes I think about the dates I've been on though and this is a possibility I've worried about that I'm now asking about. I still don't want to have drank something spiked without knowing I did even if I wasnt raped.

Evening guys!
Today I lost a friend of ~10 years.
We don't know yet the exact cause but have reason to believe it was an overdose. Perhaps Heroin, maybe cocaine.
I'm not looking for advice, but hope to offer a word of warning to anyone out there who knows someone who is messing with hard shit or experimenting with different substances.
My friend was smart, in grad-school, and had a great future ahead of himself. He'd been experimenting/taking with psychedelics, party drugs, etc since high school. It never got in the way of his studies and he always preached about using responsibly. We believed him. He was, by all accounts, a successful person.
That's why we never saw this coming. We didn't think it was a problem. We didn't know he had even fucked with something like heroin until today when it came out through his room mate. This was probably the cause, but I can't say until his family confirms it.
What I'm trying to say is, look out for your bros Anons. You don't come back from heroin addiction. It will take you in the end. So be mindful, talk about it. Tell your friends how much they mean to you.

A friend i started studying with is similar as you described it, just not successful. He's smoked weed heavily since he was 14 or so, and sometimes did some nastier shit when it got offered at parties (coke and speed mainly). In the last year or so he's been experimenting quite heavily with "research chemicals "(basically legal versions of speed and other stimulants, just with pretty unknown side effects), used speed and coke more often. Sometimes it got out of control (with speed and some shitty RC, whatever it was). Ended up in the hospital once because the shit fucked up his immune system and he got a nasty infection in his mouth.
I recommended him to go to a therapist for his problems with depression he sometimes talks about but he just blocks off completly. Talks about them in some sort of /pol/ tier conspiracy shit, that they just want to get you on anti depressants and whatnot.
I really fear that he'll go to far and loose himself in this shit.

I guess there is only so much that you can do for a person before you've exhausted all of your options. You could always reach out to his family as a last resort, though this may just piss him off until he comes around.

So my ex has never really had a boyfriend. I was her first kiss and first everything else, and I was great to her and we have many good memories. But she broke things off, not really sure why (there was no other guy or anything).
Over the next 3 weeks, her sister told me she started talking with 1 guy, then another, then got with a 3rd guy, but that rebound only lasted 2 days. They didn't even do anything (he was some beta loser). It just felt like she was trying to forget about me. Her sister says she misses me. But at this point me and her are just on and off arguing all the time and she starts most of it. And she's said a lot of mean things to me too, saying she don't like me no more, she don't know why she got with me in the first place, just real hurtful stuff I couldn't believe it because I was only ever good to her.
So anyway last night with all the fireworks going on, apparently her sister asked if I should come and she said she didn't mind. (Even though she told me to stay out of her life). And today when we went to the shop she even asked if I was coming. So I did, and she messages me, starting another argument telling me "I thought you was gonna stay out of my life", and she proceeds to say it again. And then she changes her profile picture to the one she uploaded the first day she met me (as it was about me)
During the two times she told me to stay away, I tried to put myself out there and fix things, but she shoots me down, now that she's said it a third time, do I just go full no contact?

Speaking of that relationship, for a long time, I thought I wouldn't get over it, but I did. It was a combination of moving on and realizing how much it was hurting me at the time. Even though I'm over the relationship, sometimes I still think about the ex and wonder what things would have been like under different circumstances, so maybe I'm not completely over her. But that's what most people sa is supposed to happen with your first love.
