Please know that the gaming industry is not only notoriously hard to get into, but also notoriously stressful. The odds of you landing a job even a few years after graduation are going to be very very slim. Also, the vast majority of independent developers are unsuccessful. You should only pursue if you're 100% dedicated and willing to go through some tough times.

If I were you I'd be more concerned about the money side of things. Do you have a scholarship or are you taking out loans? There is a limit on federal loans and once you reach that limit it's either out of pocket or you have to take out a private loan. Depending on how you financed community college, that federal loan money can potentially run dry during the course of your degree program.

Regardless, expect a lot of debt upon graduating and a long time to pay it off.

I think it's because a certain type of person studies engineering, but every engineering major I've encountered isn't as... worldly as you'd want to be to study law. Law requires a lot of context and looking at the bigger picture, and also is a bit more vague, in contrast to engineering which can often be the opposite. This is coming from someone who studied law when the majority of my family studied engineering.

I'm a senior engineering student and I can see why you'd say that (it's true of many engineers) but honestly most engineers suck. You're thinking of the "I'm good at math and want a high salary engineers," but ~10% of us are mediocre (by engineering standards) at math and are just really good problem solvers. If you're the latter then I think that would translate great into law.
