Not OP, but when I tried this, all I did was buy and drink an overpriced latte and browse stores at the strip mall.

Try an aptitude test even if you're not a NEET or unhappy in your job. Look at the results and try either trainng or hobbies, depending on job status, based on what interests you out of those.

Also try meetup.com, joining a club, or volunteering in order to meet people and hang out irl.

I usually read the news or daydream on the train. I can occupy myself during the commute but I really dislike the amount of time "wasted" each day just getting to my job.

I wanted to know whether I'm just being childish about 70 minutes used to go to and from work, and if lots of other people experience this every day.

My travel time is ~16 minutes to/from. But the job isn't worth having so it's whatever.

I'm in computer engineering. In my university it's literally most of CS (minus some classes) with most of EE (electrical engineering) (minus some classes) and all the math you need to get a minor in math (minus a single class).

The biggest difference is the EE classes and you take more math.

go into electrical engineering, or computer engineering

it's worth a lot more money and you learn a lot more too

people talk about EE/CE being "math heavy" but after calculus, you only need linear algebra, multivariate calculus, and differential equations.

that's like 1/5th of the math that a math major studies. in other words it's not that math heavy at all.

neither major is focused on memorizing facts, but rather, understanding concepts. if you try to "memorize" your way through either, you will struggle greatly
