I'm 29 and this is an actual big boy career type job. I really need to get it. This is my last chance. It involves interacting with business clients, the government, researching and interpreting complicated regulations, some responsiblity growing the business (though they have dedicated sales reps), negotiating lease agreements, purchasing, strong analytical and communications skills and building and maintaining relationships.

I don't feel qualified at all but I wrote the shit out of that cover letter today and the guy was very impressed with it and I'm going in tomorrow afternoon :-/

People of /pol with big boy jobs: help me nail this interview! I checked out the company website and there are only three women work there: one is a half asian sales rep and there are two white female secretaries. Everybody else who works at this company is a white male.

I'm freaking the fuck out: this is my last chance. I fucked up with a meme degree but I have studied law which is helpful and I am a strong writer so I nailed the job interview. There is kinda brain drain in this city so I think I am more competent than most of my competitors. It's just a "preliminary" interview, but it is in person. When I scheduled it over the phone he asked me, "while i have you on the phone, do you have any questions or me?" I didn't :-( Also I addressed him by his first name and I shouldn't have :-( Anyway, HALP HALP HALP I FUCKING NEED THIS

Our intern, who has been working with us on/off for the past few years, asked me the other day if I wanted to go out to drink with her and our coworkers this upcoming weekend. We've (my coworkers) have never gone out drinking before, the bar she mentioned is in her city (I commute), we're both single and she asked me when no one was in the office yet. I'm thinking its a ruse.

How bad would it sound if I said, "Sorry, but I don't drink." I'm not lying, I really don't, but I don't want her immediately concluding I flat out rejected her.

tl;dr She's a very kind, chinese woman and I don't want to hurt her feelings. How do I minimize the damage, /adv/? Do I really have to say it point-blank?

I feel pathetic. How do you quit smoking weed? I'm a loser using it as a crutch for everything. I've come to rely on it. I initially started smoking weed cause I couldn't eat. I never have an appetite without it. If I try and eat without smoking all day I feel like I'm gonna throw up and can barely eat half my meal. Not only that but lately I've become dependent on it emotionally. I'm hating every aspect of my life and it's my only escape. I feel like I'm a failure and have nothing to show for where I'm at in life and stopping weed I feel is the start I need to turn it around. I've smoked huge amounts every day and I'm afraid I'll never be able to eat again without it. I'm afraid I won't ever be happy without it.

I ditched my boyfriend because he thought I was crazy to love this song, and Manson in general. He said they were blah, sick and scary.He just doesn't get it. Manson is more than music, it's the way you feel things... Ge can be dreamy, raw, romantic, passionate, intense, crazy, silly, dark. His music is just out of this world. If he can't feel it, he just can't give me a run for my money. My love is deep and healthy, but I like to toy with the idea of dark and raw at times. So I told him to get out of my face and never come back. Stupid prick.

HI, so I'm 22, never had a job and have baby so I need to put some bread on the table. finally somebody has offered me a job from a previous work placement as an IT Technician. the only problem is, I know the guy that i'm replacing and I feel horribly guilty about it. my trial day is tomorrow I need some advice on how to go about the matter without having a meltdown and declining the offer.

Hey /adv/, blindfag here
I have a degenerative condition that will leave me blind within a decade or so

I made the horrible mistake of going to college
Tuition, Books, Supplies + Fees are paid for by a state organization
Housing + Rent are up to my loans

Unfortunately, the school fucked up and applied my loans to the tuition + fees before the state could pay for it
Which means I was stuck paying for a huge chunk of the housing payments

Unfortunately, I don't make enough fucking money a month to pay next month's payment
I just spent more than I get in an entire month on one half-payment alone
Even considering what I have now ($472) plus what I'll get next month ($735) I'll still have $60+ dollars to pay down, on top of what bills I have to pay, medical expenses for my therapy, my medicine for my bipolar, my weed so I can even see, etc.

What in all of the fucking fuck do I do, /adv/?

I have an interview at a hiring agency tomorrow for a warehouse associate job and I'm wondering what the appropriate clothing would be, as I don't want to appear overdressed. most of my other job experience has been more obviously "formal" suit & tie deals. I was thinking just a navy button up, black pants, black shoes, and tie. something like the guy on the right except without the receded hairline.

22 year old here who's never been in a relationship. So far I'd like to say I'm pretty content/happy with myself. I'm only working part time hourly but I have career goals with the company I'm in. So I've decided to sign up for several online dating app/sites because I feel this is something I I should work on since everything else seems to be going alright.

Problem is I don't know what constitutes as a good profile for a guy. I don't think I'm hideous but I'm not what this site calls a "Chad" either. that doesn't really bother; I love myself and I'm cool with who I am, however I do try for self-improvement if I feel it's necessary. I would post a pic but I'm not very photogenic and I don't actually have any recent ones of me. However I really think my profile is just....bland I guess? I'm pretty blunt, I like video games and anime, I go to the movies on my days off. Most of the women I come across aren't into that and that's perfectly okay, but I would like advice on how to come across less dull to the women that are into similar interests would be great. I don't want to come across as something I'm not though, I love myself and I don't want to change who I am just for another person.

I just got denied entry to my 'dream' college. I've missed many deadlines for applying to other colleges, but I got into an extremely expensive private university and I'm still awaiting the news for the other college. With my limited options I've considered taking a gap semester to work and then I'd go to uni next spring, but my mom is completely against this idea saying that it is a 'cop out'. Do you guys have any advice on what I should do?

Hey everybody, just a heads up this is going to be a sob story.

Yesterday I was dumped by my first girlfriend in five years. We only dated for a month and a half and I know I shouldn't be this torn up, but hear me out. I didn't date for so long because I had terrible trust issues with women due to being cheated on/left for other guys in literally all of my past relationships. We went on many dates, I was awkward as fuck and she luckily found it pretty charming. She met my family, I met all of her friends, she told all of her coworkers about me, in short it basically felt like this was really going somewhere. Well as some time went by I noticed that whenever we saw each other she used to mention her ex quite often. Who by the way, sounds like a total sack of garbage. He fucked with her head, dumped her twice, spread rumors about her, and was just a complete fucking sociopath. Whenever I'd say things like "wow that guy sounds like an ass" she'd quickly respond with "no he isn't, he's a good guy". A red flag I should have looked into much sooner than I did.

Cut to a few weeks later and she suddenly sounds pretty down in all text messages. I decide to go see her that night (driving literally through a monsoon to see what was wrong) so we could talk it out. She seems fine then suddenly bursts into tears, saying how worried she is about our relationship. She thinks she isn't good enough, is slightly intimidated by how serious things were, and said it wasn't fair for me that she was so conflicted. She said she still wanted to be my girlfriend though, so I told her we'd take it slow. She immediately felt better and things went well for a little while longer.
