Hey guys. Never asked for advice on here before but my boyfriend isn't any help and I have no one to ask other than him.
I'm getting a 1600 dollar tax return shortly, just waiting on it to direct deposit into my bank. I work an OK job and make about 11 bucks an hour or so. Work 40 hours a week. I have college loans that I have been putting off and about 1000 in debt through two credit cards hat I've been paying off. Originally I had planned on getting a car with the tax return as a down payment, so I could potentially get a different job as an electrician. However, with the debt I am in and the fact that as it stands I'm pretty much living paycheck to paycheck I thought it may be better to pay off the debt first completely with the return. I have no savings to speak of however.
My idea is this; put the return in a separate American Express serve account and pay off the 200 I owe on the one card, and pay out 200 every month of the remainder towards the other card so as to help build up credit score again. Then, every paycheck put 100 of my paycheck back into the serve account, to maintain a bit of some savings that I can eventually use as a car down payment. I currently do not have a car and have been using my boyfriend's or walking. Does this sound viable? I thought this also may help with my savings issue.

My only concern about just jumping on a car loan is that then I would be adding more payments on top of the ones I have. I thought maybe it would be better to take some time to pay off the cards I have first, so that then I'll be able to take out the car loan after. I found out about a program that gives you free college for electrician work and a paying job right off the bat, so my goal was to jump on that because the pay is like 19 bucks an hour starting and goes up to like 35 by the time you're done. You school for a week then work for a week and you get paid the whole time. As for the college debt I do know that I need to get on it. I'm just awful at this stuff. I only have like 6 grand in college debt but still... It was only a year and I had to drop out.

Posted this yesterday but worded it badly
Someones coming to inspect my apartment today because I told them about bed bugs. I did not spray any chemicals at all, but I did sprinkle diatomaceous earth today, but now I read a law that says the landlord is obligated to pay for extermination, but part of it says "THE TENANT SHALL NOT APPLY OR PERMIT ANY UNLICENSED PERSON TO APPLY ANY BEDBUG CONTROL TECHNIQUES THAT CONSTITUTE MITIGATION. " and "IF THE TENANT FAILS TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THE OBLIGATIONS PRESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION, THE TENANT MAY BE HELD FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR BEDBUG MITIGATION EXPENSES FOR THE DWELLING UNIT AND SURROUNDING UNITS THAT ARE INFESTED. " Am I going to be held responsible for this? I vacuumed up most of it, but I poured some in my boxspring. What should I do? Does the diatomaceous earth count as mitigation? I live in Arizona.

Any doctors/medical people here? I just found out I have shingles (herpes zoster) and I have to wait until friday to go to a doctor. Today I got an aciclovir+hydrocortisone cream which is originally for cold sores but as they had nothing else for sale without a prescription, I had to take it. I also got some strong B-vitamin complex so that's that. The worst part is that the rash appeared a week ago and I ignored it as nothing more than just some insect bites (I started visiting a sauna regularly so I thought maybe some little bitch bit me there). The affected area is oval shaped, about 7x3cm and doesn't spread. With shingles, everyone says I should have started treatment within 72 hours of the first symptoms, which is far gone now. In what risk am I now? I'm seeing my doctor in three days to get a prescription and a serious cream. Until now, it's the tiny cold sore cream and b-vit. Another bad thing is, my brother is expecting a child with his wife really soon, so my situation means I won't be allowed to see them until my contagious period ends, to protect the kid from the virus. So, how much of "fucking up" did I do?

No big deal. Though itchy and tender to the touch, the rash has its own natural lifetime and would fade in about two weeks even without any medication. (Mainly the meds are there to reduce the discomfort). It's only seriously dangerous if it breaks out near the eyes.

Hey /adv/, l have some questions regarding Congress.
I'm a third-world English student and l wrote a paper in which l cited a couple of US Representatives. Now l need to get in touch with "experts" on the issue, and figured my best bet would be the two people l referenced. But the thing is that l'm not sure whether they'd reply to some random foreigner asking them specific questions about what might be considered a hot-button issue.
So my questions for you guys are: have you ever contacted a sitting Congressman with a specific inquiry? Did you get a reply? If yes, was it an actual reply, or just a canned response?
I know this might be regarded as a /pol/ thread by some, but l'm legit asking for advice on something l have no idea how to approach.
