In uni, signing up for fall semester classes, I'll be a junior. I need to take a language class for my psych major and I have no idea what I should choose. I don't want to take any ass-blastingly difficult, but I don't really have much of a scope on language difficulty, I only took 2 years of high school Spanish, and that was a joke. What do? How hard is Russian?

Oh, here are my options:
Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian, American sign, or Spanish.
>>
>>18176609
spanish is piss easy if you want an easy A
>>
>>18176600

One lauguage class isn't going to teach you much anything useful, so go with whatever really. Languages that require learning a whole now writing system (Arabic, Greek, Chinese and Russian) take more time to learn and Arabic and Chinese pronounciation are quite different from western languages so that's an extra difficulty to master. French, German and Spanish are easier and quite useful if you manage to acutally learn something. Latin is interesting, but ultimately useless outside medicine or law and its grammatically challenging to a native English speaker. I have no experience in ASL, but it might be more interesting than regular languages.

Honestly, I'd recommend taking Spanish, if you've done it before, or French, because it has similar vocab as Spanish and English, so you've a head start. That's the easiest route.

My dad is actually the one that owns the business. But he won't take me to the hospital because today is a busy day. My mom won't come get me either. I've never broken anything before and yes I can move it because it was smashed above the joint. It's pretty swollen compared to my other toe. It's started bleeding more since that picture. Should I be concerned or should it be okay?

Unless it hurts so bad you can't walk on it, it should be fine.

Squeeze the old man for a pair of steelcaps after this tho.

Yeah I can't stand on it. I manned up and walked to the truck after we finished the job but that was a terrible idea

Can i go to college being 20 (soon to be 21) I decided i didn't want to go to college right out of high school. I felt like I was not ready after some things happened for example my mother passed away while I was in high school. But after working jobs and such I have been unemployed for about 4 months now I realize I want to go to college and get a degree now so im not working shitty jobs for ever. Can I go to college like a normal kid out of high school. Like in a dorm and such? Anyone else have any experiences with this. I would like to get out of my parents home, so I do not want to do community college. The nearest community colleges are also about 40 mins away and its pretty shitty to drive that everyday just for class. Thanks for your help.

Nope. You have to go to college the moment you finish high school or you'll never be accepted. That's why they are never any stories of middle age mother's going back to college or people who do military service going to undergrad or grad school (SARCASM)

Sorry, let me clarify. Can I get into a college dorm. Being 20, will colleges allow me to be in their dorms.

Don't go to college, go to a Vocational school instead

Lmao
>>
>>18176492

depends on your definition of 'good gf'. most college women wont date men who aren't college educated, but college educated men will date non college educated women, so there's a disparity there.

attractive women tend to move up, but there are plenty that never realize that there is more to life outside of their humble roots and will get with a guy that way, but its not going to lead to a very fruitful life when you settle down with the only attractive girl to maintain an interest in you.

Has anyone here ever fucked their professor? I've already graduated but I have two different ones that may be DTF.

4 months ago, start of class,, i met this girl. We talked and she asked for my number so she can text me she said. For 3 months, she would greet me early in the class and we usually talk but i started to have some "feelings" for her, so i became nervous around her and became awkward. I stopped talking to her and she stopped greeting me.

For the last month of my semester, this girl started talking to me. She always tries to get near me but I didn't mind. The first girl sometimes gets near me and when the second girl talks to me she would move away. At the end of the semester she talked to me like nothing happened and I was really confuesd. The thing is, I still have those "feelings" for the first girl and I'd really want to "reconnect" with her. What should i do?

Be clear as ever with her on ehy you acted as you did. "I distanced myself because I have feelings for you and didn't want to mess things up". Apologize maybe or dont idk

If she still likes you, she'll understand and want to start something.
>>
>>18176459

i don't know but what makes you think she likes me? and the semester has already finished and i still have her contact number, what would be the best ice breaker?
>>
>>18176592
Ask her to do something together

When you get together apologize about being distant but that you get nervous when you get feelings for someone etc

Her reaction will let you know what she thinks in turn and you go from there

Despite the signals you will never ever know if woman likes you or not until you ask her out straightforwardly.

Need some adivice on this guys and girls. I've been with this girl for about 3 years and we have broken up twice in between. We are young, me 21 her 20, and the last time she broke up with me she gave me an excuse to break up. I later found out it was for another guy. Not a month later she comes back to me and wants to patch things up and she admits she made a mistake.
I'm thinking in my head "yeah I want to work through this" but I also feel like "fuck damaged goods, I don't trust her." Right now I don't think we are together but I'm in a limbo stage where I don't care and she's trying to make things work but I think it's going to take a lot of time for me. On top of that I have family and friends saying "don't go back." It's fucking hard. What do /adv/?

You don't trust her. No point in getting back together.
>>
>>18176427
Exactly.

Do you think from now on you will be together happily ever after?

This is coming from someone that was in the same situation as you, and got back with her
>>
>>18176428
I'm assuming it didn't work out for you?

So I've been in uni for 5 years now. I'm 28 years old.

The first 3 years I started out strong and made straight A's, but I went on a downward spiral and for the last 2 years I haven't passed a class. I never went to class and just totally stopped trying. Never doing homework, not even showing up for tests, et cetera.

My major was electrical engineering and they kicked me out for failing a class too many times. I also lost my financial aid, but I haven't been kicked out of the university entirely yet because my GPA is still good enough to attend (2.3)

Now I'm stuck in this weird loop where I will enroll for a class or two, work all semester to pay off the tuition, and then fail the class because I never did any work. I don't know how to get out of this cycle.

Additionally, my job is at the university, and I can only keep working if I am a student.

But uni is expensive as fuck. For just two classes it's like $3,000, and since I can't pay it off all at once, they constantly charge me late fees. I just went to make a $400 payment and it's like it didn't even count because I had $400 in late fees. I finally had a moment where I realized what a huge waste of money this is. It's like I'm paying all this money just to stay in this uni environment because I don't know what else to do.

Technically I can try and get back into the engineering college but it's a long shot. I would need to take a full load and have a really great semester, and even then it's dicey. I just can't afford this shit but I don't know what else to do. I'm also old as fuck and my life is getting really pathetic.

>>18176379
Why don't you do the class work?
>>
>>18176382

I honestly don't know.
Usually I get off to a bad start because of enrollment issues (enrolling late, making payments) and after started with a few homework zeroes, it goes from "Ah I'll just skip homework credit" to "ah I'll just study the night before the midterm" to "Ah I'll just get a 100 on the final"
I totally understand how utterly retarded this is but it just seems to happen every time. I have no discipline I guess. It's guess it's hard for me to care again after failing for so long and being in the same classes over and over again.

I am at a crossroad in my life right now where I have to decide whether I want to stay with my partner for the rest of my life (make big decisions like buying a house together and kids will surely follow soon).

We have been together for over 6 years of which we have been living together for the past 1,5 years and I love her very dearly.

She is 3 years older than me and it seems that she has reached a phase in her life at 31 where she wants to move forward but I'm not sure if I I'm ready.

The difficulty I'm having is deciding whether the doubts I have are normal for everyone who is faced with making the big decision in their life, or if they are indicative of something that is wrong.

Logic is also telling me something different than my feelings, which is making this situation extremely hard.

How does one really know if they should or should not move forward with their partner?

Nah it looks fine dude, it'll grow back soon enough

Have a thesis to write to finish college, it's about the European Union and the bad things about it, thing is i have a lot of pages to fill, and there's only so much i can write from my own knowledge, so of course i steal other people's content

But i don't copypaste it, i'm not from an English speaking country, so what i do is find some articles, read them, then not only translate it into my native language, but also change most of the sentences and structure of the ideas being said, combined with the ideas that i come with on the go.

Is this plagiarism? Will i get fucked?

I'm sure your college has rules on citing. Technically, if you don't cite you sources it is plagiarism I'm at uni and if I get caught for plagiarism two times I'll get thrown out.
>>
You will not be caught. Earth is flat. People are dumb #AF
>>
>>18176292
It's difficult to say with no examples given but I'd recommend you to always cite the source anyway, you could quote a part of the article and write further considerations on it.

Is great success possible for the average human?

Rich people say it was their hard work but we all know it's just their self-service bias.

They were born and groomed to be successful in a certain environment predestined for them.

I feel like shit lol

You dont have to be the best to be well off and happy.

All what matters is what you want from life and act like it, not what others are doing around you.
>>
You will never change anything, if you keep doing what you have always done.

This is the most important sentence i have ever found.

Sure a lot of rich people had good supportive networks incase they fail, but they were successfull anyways and that is based on what they were doing.
Also doing what your parents or grandparents did is not a guarantee for success, as the new technology is game changing everywhere.

Great success needs good financing, good timing, a sense of PR and marketing as well as a great network of people around you.
