OK guys, I have a problem. My girlfriend and I have lived with my 80 yo grandmother for the past two years. She has a 2500 Sq foot, two story, 4 bedroom house from the 50s on 13 acres of land. The land has a few fields, a creek that runs through it, a spring, and a tapped well. We have the original deed from the 1890's to the land.
We were set to buy a house in town about 10 mins away. It is 1400 Sq foot ranch style with like a half acre yard surrounded by other houses.
I'm an only child, so it's been a given that I would inherit my grandma's land. Well, grandma's old and moving in with an aunt and the land and house is gonna be sold. I want to buy it. We can afford both, but my gf doesn't want to. She says the house is too small and we'd be "locked in" to it. I of course want too keep my family's land.
Advice?

A little more context:
The old family house is basically a wreck right now. My grandma is senile and lets her dogs piss and shit everywhere. The downstairs floors will need replaced. There is and mouse infestation, so it'd need an exterminator. There's a lot of junk on the land and parts of the fields are overgrown with weeds. Grandma's a hoarder so some of the upstairs rooms and the garage will need a dumpster to go through.
My parents live right down the road, so they could help. Because of family drama, no one has really been able to do much up there. We both work full time jobs. I've graduated college, my gf is just starting , and we've been taking care of my grandmother so we haven't made much headway.
My though is with her (and her dogs) gone we could really make the place beautiful. We could skip the whole "starter home" thing and go strait to our house in the country. But my gf wants to build a house one day and have it designed by us.

Always get the land. You don't have to live there forever. Use it profitably. Let people live there to work, feed your family. Don't listen to your girlfriend, OP. She is not thinking resourcefully. Never give up acreage with water that is capable of food production. It is a long term project, but it is worthwhile and can be very profitable.

You can build within the house. With proper budgeting, you can "build from the ground up," if the house is really in as poor shape as you think. And don't forget about additions all around the property! Monticello took like 20 years man, but look at it! Always skip the starter home if you can. "The Housing Trap." Owning land is the best you can do. Hell, are you even free if you don't own any land? I don't think so, personally.

Should I get a job or take classes at a university?
To elaborate: I got accepted to a good university in my country in a difficult and demanding course, but it starts next summer.
I'm debating whether to take classes at a local uni in order to be more prepared for next year, or to get a job because I need some money. What do?
To get a part time job + studying on the side sounds too hard for a recovering neet like me.

However, the classes wouldn't give me any credits, I'll just have access to the lectures. It's free, but it would just be a way to prepare myself for next year.

Going on a 24 day tour of europe in two days. Need serous help deciding how to pack. My friend is telling me to just take a large 40L backpack and a carry on bag. I am thinking that I should take a carry on luggage with wheels and a bag.

Not much wrong with that, i let her play photographer if that makes her happy(posting "artistic" pictures and spending half an hour applying filters) bhut yesterday we had an argument over some picture she wanted to post.
It is a picture she took for some guy before we met, of her in a sexy pose. I told her if she posted that shit she can pack her stuff and leave. She said its artistic, and when i asked her what was the original purpose of the picture, she sort of understood my angle on this, but was still pissed about it.

I need insurance, but I have no clue where to start. I live in the U.S. and I'm lower class, which is shitty to begin with, but both my mother and I are unemployed. Real quick, I live in Canada.
I am 26, and my grandfather died about 9 years ago.
It's going to be 10 years in November.
He left me a will, and the people who are in charge of it have been stalling over the last 4-5 years to give it to me. They sent me breadcrumbs. They said he left me an amount under 10k, which doesn't make sense considering he was loaded. I mean, loaded. (and if it was really under 10k, even it was 100$, it wouldn't matter, I would be fine with it)
The problem here is I heard somewhere a while ago, that after 10 years if you don't claim it, it's gone. Which would explain why they are dragging me along?
Does ANYONE know what I could do or where do I start to get information or claim it or some shit?

Hey /adv/. I'm 28 and, on balance, I'm a fairly normal late 20s guy with a career and so on.
Thing is, I've fallen for a girl who is 17 who I met online. She's honestly not like other girls her age - significantly more mature, extremely smart and a number of other different positives.

As a 24 year old I think dating a teenager is really weird. Girls can act mature but you haven't even met her in person. Your relationship is already going to be strained by your 11 year age difference and generational gap not to mention the pressures she'll feel when she's in college.
