Put a lot of effort into getting the best job I could when I was 19.
Every other success I had in life stems from that decision one way or another.

Quitting school and focusing on doing what I want to do (writing) instead of following the shit others tell me to do. A decade later, I am still pretty happy with my choice, so I guess at least midterm it was a great decision.

Anyway, keep in mind that you have a one-up on people who didn't graduate, or people that merely have their GED with no qualifications like you. A good amount of places posting entry-level jobs, from my experience, don't even really give a shit about this, in all honesty, but it can and does matter a percentage of the time.

I'd begin by looking through online job boards, and applying to anything you can do, not just what you're willing to do (if you begin getting picky with your first job choice, and you're not particularly skilled in anything, have fun with that ordeal).

Each time you apply to a place, in-person, online, whatever, I'd make sure to write it down somewhere when you applied, where and the date, along with the telephone number of said place(s).

Make sure you accept calls that come in after applying to a place (have had multiple companies contact me for over-the-phone 'interviews' but where calling from some center states away, for example). Ensure that you're sounding confident in these, and that you're not dwindling on what to say if they ask you a question, I think this is most important (same goes for in-person interviews, obviously).

I would say about one-to-two weeks after applying to a place, call them and say something like "Hi, my name is ____ _____, I applied for ____ ____ a couple weeks ago, I was wondering if you're still hiring and if you got my application?", which will likely be met with being put on hold or that they are, but haven't gone through all the apps yet. This should show them that you're more interested in the position than the slew of other folks who just put in an app and that's it. I'd call them, max, about two-or-three times doing this, in succession of one another on a timely basis.

Depends where you live/what medication they give you. There's some pill they gave me that I forgot the name of, think it starts with a C or an O (I'd recognize the name if I saw it). After 6 months or so on it I just stopped taking it coz it did fuck-all and it was all they'd give me. That was almost 4 years ago and since then i've barely coped by just being super aware of my mental state at any given moment, and making sure to look after my self when things get out of hand.

Depends on what you're trying to do.

A lot of skill jobs will overlook a lack of standard certification (to a certain extent) provided your work is actually up to par. Anything less than concrete like academia would almost require a recognized degree of study for anyone to take you seriously.

Depends, want to be a doctor? Need degrees/training.

Want to be a machine learner? Paperwork don't mean shit.

I was more refering to if someone wanted to be involved in art, entertainment, media, or certain trades, I realize that some jobs like many involved in medicince would require quite a lot of formal training and all that for good reason.

I mainly ask just because I would like to know if it's feasable for an average person to be sucessful if they would prefer to not have to go to college or something.

I feel trapped here, everyone seems horribly immature and reflects all of the aspects of my own personality that I hate. That also depends. Everyones life is different. Early 20s though is generally a time of emotionally immaturity and development. I cant imagine many are in any state to find a special partner, though it happens.

I sewed my oats n stuff in my early 20s. Good times and i dont regret it, but it definitely isnt a sustainable lifestyle. A lot of drama comes with it.

Thats just reality though. Seems the most fun things come with the greatest consequences.
