Had my first gay encounter.

Felt a desperate need for physical contact. Experiance with women was leaving me feeling empty. Turns out its the exact same thing with guys. Just a little sweatier.

Still end up cleaning up afterward, retreating internally but now i can hide it better externally.

Made sure to lay out my movements and intentions before hand, so it didnt seem like i was suddenly dumping and running.

Worried that my emotional absence from intimate interaction will leave me empty forever, or at worst chasing the dragon.

Anyone dealt with this?

Are you able to specify where you were at, what you did and where it took you?

Bit of an ask, internet stranger, but i cant talk to people around me without revealing the masquerade.
>>
Are these people you picked up for sex or had a relationship with?
I feel this way with people I have no romantic interest in. I have to be in a relationship with someone or I may as well masturbate because it just leaves me with nothing.

hey /adv/

help me out with this one,
I live in a house with a roommate and I'm starting to worry about him.

he never leaves his room. a few stats about him.

>25.
>no social life.
>never leaves the house except to work
>doesn't drink.
>never makes convos with anyone outside of the necessary talk to get things done.
>plays a lot of starcraft; pretty much obsessed with that game.
>is obsessed with computers and bugs?
>yeah he likes insects alot for some weird reason.

he also works as a night janitor at a office in downtown Seattle. I'm pretty sure he graduated from WSU with a Major in biology and he seems to know everything about computers and the internet.

his mother lives with his step-dad and they never have come over to visit him.

everything I just typed is pretty much ALL i know about him. He never seems to open up, we talk about the rent and weather and that's all.

I honestly feel like he might be autistic and might have a personality disorder; me and my group of friends have tried to invite him out to drink with us, or go to a concert but he always just declines.

we are starting to worry about him, he's a nice guy, awesome roommate, always pays his rent on time and never makes a peep outside of refilling his water bottle and cooking a shit load of oatmeal in the microwave, but there is just something about him that I can't seem to get over, it's disturbing. and sad. I want to help him. if he even wants my help.

I dont think he's ever have a girlfriend or been with a girl before and I can't help but feel sad and kinda upset at him for always being held up in his room playing starcraft.

this may sound like I'm pestering the guy, but I used to be kinda like him, not that extreme that he's taking it but when my mother passed away I became withdrawn and all I know is that if no one helps him, he will remain there, and it's scary. it's the kinds of people that snap.

please help adv

So he works a regularass job and doesn't talk to people much?

What's your goal here, make him have more sex? Cure your own social phobia first so you can chat the dude up. Figure out if there's any place outside he wouldn't mind visiting, and then wingman for him.
>>
mind your own business you fuck

>Figure out if there's any place outside he wouldn't mind visiting, and then wingman for him.

that's the thing, outside of the necessary shit he needs to do, I've notices over the years he never fucking leaves his room.

it's kinda annoying sometimes actually, I want to have people over, but I don't want to bother him. he never comes out of his room even to get food when people come over.

and he's never had anyone over.

I just wish he would talk to me.

I asked on /lgbt/ but I wanted to get some opinions from people who don't deal with this shit every day and so are used to it.

My brother lives with me, he's 24 I'm 28. Back in March I managed to come out to my parents, and I'm ready to tell him, but I don't know how to get it out.

My dad I assumed already knew so I asked him for advice and that went south.

My mom we were talking about a facebook post where someone was asking their parents if they would disown her if they knew she was gay.

I mean, I'm transgender but same concept.

hi, i just got off the waitlist at berkeley but it's a spring admission, so i'd miss out on the first semester

kinda worried i'm gonna miss out on college stuff if I start late

there's some programs for taking classes at Berkeley or studying abroad but idk if i'm gonna do those

background: math/business major, currently committed to uiuc, planning on trying to do HAAS at berkeley if i go

You would be crazy to choose UIUC (a shithole) over Berkeley (an elite university).
>>
yes it's worth it, fuck UIUC

>there's some programs for taking classes at Berkeley or studying abroad but idk if i'm gonna do those
don't do FPF it's a shitfest

Take classes at a community college for the fall semester that transfer over to Berkeley credit.
>>
everyone at berkeley talks about how much they hate it. but the area and job prospects are much better than ui. also bay area california vs nowhere illinois. should be an easy decision

also it might matter if youre a freshman, but missing fall isn't a big deal. if you will be a freshman, idk what to tell you cuz you prolly wanna be there in fall

What is your opionion on people with tattoos? Do you think theyre nice if done well? (pic related) or are most people against them? (social stigma)
61 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>>18295075
I think they always look awful and will immediately have a bad impression on someone who has them.
>>
I live in a place where they're so common that I don't really have a set opinion on "people with tattoos". I'm not against them, people should do whatever they want, I'm used to the look.

Still I dislike most. There's so much stuff that can go wrong. Apart from the obvious stuff like getting a bad tattoo, I feel that tattoos that are too perfect look tryhard and are hard to pull off, and a lot of stuff I just don't particularly like. Hyperrealistic faces, for example - can you imagine trying to have sex with someone then making eye contact with the fake face on their body? No thanks.
>>
>>18295075
Lad here

My honest opinion is no, i dont like tattoo's period.
The only exceptions i make are the small one's with meaning to them, like a loved one that passed away or something you got with your squad while on tour of duty.
Vanity tattoo's are unappealing to me, more so on women than men.

Just got my first hemorrhoids

I went to a vintage video game store with a friend. Was gazing at this Street Fighter cabinet machine, and asked some nearby customer "Do I have to put in coins?" He replied in a sarcastic "Yeah?, You're not from that time are you". I said "My friends dad had a cabinet, and it was modded to play right away, but no I'm not". He said "It's ok and walked away". I can't help but feel offended, I should of made a comeback, but did t have it in me. Really confused.

You are majorly overreacting, or I'm missing something. He was just being a bit snarky about you being too young to remember how the machines work? Is that the whole insult?
>>
>>18295016
You just take the hit. It's not really much of an underhanded insult...
doesn't suggest you're a dumbass and what he said was true. Said in a disdainful way, sure, but that's the only thing to be offended by.

Oh, and at least he said "it's okay."
>>
>>18295037
No, that was the exact insult. What am I doing wrong that's making me feel attacked. Should I of made a comeback like "Yeah maybe I'll understand when I'm a 35 year old loser"?

I'll be driving down from CT to VA next week for an internship. I wanted to bring my desktop along for shits and giggles
and also to enjoy internet that isn't third-world tier
but I'm not sure of the safest way to move it. It will be a long drive, and the tiny sedan I'm in isn't exactly shock-proof.

Is it safe to transport a desktop + monitor by car? What is the best way to pack it so it doesn't get fucked up with the least amount of effort?

>>18295005
I always just put it between my front seat and the dash. Nothing has happened to it and I've been driving that thing back from college to my hometown (100 miles) pretty regularly.

The idea of static never crossed my mind.
>>
>>18295005
put the monitor screen down on a plaid or something, and put the desktop CPU upwards on a plaid too, try to keep it steady so block it with bags or something so it doesn't move around and you'll be fine
>>
>>18295201
Unfortunately I'll be driving with someone on the way down so the front seat isn't an option.

Has anybody had luck with the back seat or laying it down on the motherboard side in the trunk?

I 'm 18 and wondering if my plan for the future is good. And also, what I could do to help me in certain parts.

First, I plan on going into the air force for around 2-6 years, going into some tech field. There, I'll also get all of my undergraduate/general classes out of the way, and invest a certain amount of my money, probably around 20% per month into savings, so I can reduce my student loan debt after college. Since I'm not generally a needy person, I could live with a very bland lifestyle other than a decent PC.
Afterwards, I'll go to a university and get a masters or higher in computer science, and most likely dabble into engineering and game design as well. At this time, I'll also meet colleagues who I can hopefully keep in contact with down the line. I'll also have a job in the same field as when I was in the air force to help pay off anything immediate, etc. Over the course of both uni and air force, I plan to experiment with game design, which I want to later develop into my Job/Career.
Then, I'll use my previous experience to work at startups either later in uni, or afterwards in something such as silicon valley. This is also where I'll learn about game design as an actual job hopefully. If I see success in a business venture, I'll see about investing in them.
With all of my experience and skill, I plan to work at a big name company, and build a name for myself and any colleagues on my dev team. And finally, after saving up enough money and garnering enough fame, I plan to start my own studio with my colleagues, so that I'm put in the spotlight for previous work, kind of like Hideo Kojima, and am completely unrestricted from designing my game how I want it to be made, since I'm in charge.

Thoughts?

No need to actully read, just skimming the text I can tell you are overplanning. Prepare for the unexpected.

Also:

> I plan on going into the air force for around 2-6 years

If your plan as a 4 year margin of error, then it's a bad plan.
>>
>>18294996
So should I go for 2 years in air force, or 4? I only put it up to 6 for margin of error, but since that would be a bad idea, I'm fine with changing it.
>>
>>18294991
Gotta have a dream, but take it one step at a time. Honestly you sound autistic though.

Good luck, start learning how to program now rather than later.

Alright,

My ex of years back (we've both had bfs gfs since) started texting me again. She's not really my standards anymore but fuck it. I've been replying to her and even when I text one word responses she changes the topic to keep it going.

Last night I was drunk and I just flat out said that we should hook up (we were talking about one of our old sex stories). She said no and I just replied cool. Next day today she keeps on texting me and I take awhile to reply cause she's not my priority.

I'm not really putting effort but do you guys think she's going to fall and just hook up with me eventually or am I just passing her time.

I really don't care but it's just weird to me because she's been keeping tabs on me for years.

Just want to know your input(s).

My gf is really good at doing her hair, nails, makeup, eyebrows, etc. She starting doing this to her friends for some side money. She made $600 in one day. Now she wants to start doing this full time and do her friends friends and their friends. I'm happy that she's using her talents to make a nice income but I'm kinda jealous.

I feel incompetent cause I'm just a waiter and don't make much money at my job. I don't really have skills that I can do to make good money. I was thinking of getting into computer or iPhone repair. Something that people need but I can do cheap. But I don't know the first thing about that. I was thinking of getting into personal training because I have a bachelor's in exercise science but I heard there's not much money in that. I'm running out of ideas.

What do you guys do on the side to make extra money?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>18294980
There's lots of ways to make side money. I personally prefer to make my money in my career and keep my free time to myself.

IT is a hot field OP, I suggest you look into at least an Associates degree or if you can bachelors.
>>
>>18294992
I'll check it out. I was hoping to not have to go back to school and pay more. I already spent time and money into my bachelor's degree in exercise science because I wanted to be a physical therapist but changed my mind my senior year because I don't want to go to grad school. I thought my plan b job was gonna be a personal trainer but I heard they don't make good money unless you're in a huge city and you can't train forever because eventually people would rather have the younger fitter trainer than your old fart self. I just wish I put more time into a trade that I can do.
>>
>>18295012
Get good grades, apply for every scholarship you can and grants and school is surprisingly affordable. You don't have to go somewhere fancy, just a solid brick and mortar state school. You should already have most of yout basics done. Or you can finish your current degree and self study into IT. Plenty of people in the field with irrelevant degrees.

Trades aren't bad but I come from a family of them, it's hard work and can be hard on your body.

So my girlfriend is calling me transphobic for thinking this transexual on Jerry Springer should have been up front about the fact she was born a man. Why is it transphobic to expect honesty in a relationship? This was the video that started our fight.

You don't even pay back the loan until you're earning over a certain amount, and even then it's such a tiny percentage of your wage that you won't even notice it.

Oh shit I'm sorry, and what if you were in a relationship with them, and you were just treated like crap for a solid year, and they said don't worry I'm here, but they agreed with the viewpoints that most of the people had.

My dad was deployed to Iraq in 2005, it was just my mom and my 1 year old brother and me. My mom asked for help but no one helped us except for my grandparents, and people said, they support veterans, and people also say that they help families in need. But no one was there and we almost died.
