Do pills really work for depression/social anxiety?
I was always defending beating depression/s.a. with exercise and better diet instead of pills but I'm not going anywhere. I'm just scared that pills will make me worse.
What are your experiences with pills? Did they help you in the long run, do you recommend or not?

They can help but for many people it takes awhile to find the right ones for them. On the short term it will make you feel worse, but it will stabilize and eventually you will find it easier to focus on doing what it is you want to do. Of course definitely keep up exercising and dieting.

Try sport, skip one night entirely, black out windows (block street light), stop being fat ass, learn how to meditate, ignore your daily stress, take multivitamines, stop drinking coffe, energy drinks, start eating real non fast food.
If nothing works, go see doctor. Being for 3+days without any sleep will turn you literally crazy.

I'm not sure where to start but I have a friend whose life is almost, but not quite 100% fucked and I can't figure out how to get him out of it now that's he'd sodomized all his hopes of improving his situation because he'd rather smoke weed than address his problems like an adult.
I'll try to concisely list off how fucked he is:
>no job with no chance of getting ANY job in the immediate future that I can see
>no transport unless it's to his old job later this year
>no income of any kind
>doesn't qualify for food stamps because his landlord/neighbor on the same lot already gets them
>no internet access half the time because the guy is a prick but at least he wasn't kicked off the lot yet
>doesn't have the skills to make a living wage working at home anyway
>has 3 dogs to support on top of feeding himself
>no running water other than from a hose in the landlord's yard because the RV trailer is a piece of shit all around
>landlord is lucky to let him in his trailer to shower even once a week so he always smells like rotting ass (no good for interviews)
>can't sign up for the military because dishonorably discharged
So basically right now he's stuck living in a godawful trailer with no hope of any job save one months from now. Nobody but his brother, me, and my grandma have been willing to give him the slightest bit of help and our charity is the only reason he hasn't starved to death.
Is he just shit out of luck living more or less like a hobo until August or later?
So far the only thing I thought of to improve his situation is changing the address of his trailer without moving it but that requires $20 or more he doesn't have to update his license so he won't be denied food stamps on a technicality again.

Oh also thanks to his unreliable prick of a landlord, he missed a court date for speeding so now he has a warrant out and is going straight to jail if caught driving again, for 30-45 days if he's right.
So he also has to find a place for his dogs to stay during this time. He can't get a job until he gets the warrant settled and in my living situation I can't have any pets. He is willing to give up 2 dogs if need be but apparently not the oldest one.
Not sure if he'd change his mind if it was the difference between being homeless or not.

Only have it when you really want to (negative experiences won't necessarily help your desire), be forward about what you expect (like through assertive dirty talk about what you want him to do to you), do everything you can once things get heated to focus on what you do like about him/the experience, try to give it an honest shot.

I keep getting turned down for jobs and its really discouraging. I've applied to 5 different places so far, three of them being simple retail/fast food places and zero luck. I don't have a criminal record, and I have retail experience. I thought it might have been that I have a GED and no college degree, but idk.
Its starting to really suck, my bills are catching up to me and I'm just falling deeper into this hole.

I cannot express my thoughts in public, my voice shakes, my mind goes blank. I say stupid stuff. I cannot even say ''hi'' without feeling a huge discomfort. It's my 4th year at college, and I haven't made one single friend. I think most people at school are annoying, but I'd like to make one-two friends that I like being with. I'm like a ghost, when I'm done with school it will be like I was never there and it makes me sad. ''Joining a club'' just doesn't work. I always feel worthless and I'M scraed of making people annoyed. My counsellor adviced me to start using pills for social anxiety. But I don't have much faith in pills, and what if they mess me up even more? I've been like this for a decade, I'm living but not really living. I'm so tired of it, I just want to die soon.

I just finished my PhD in an obscure field and now I teach high school. The girls are really mean and are constantly talking shit about me. I don't have another job lined up, but if this is teaching high school I am kind of good with it.

But I don't have many years of teaching experience. The rest of the class is fine it's just this one group of cunts.
They think they are very tough because they are black or Hispanic and have been told they live "hard lives" by sympathetic white people that want heaven points.
It's just not my idea of something I really want to be doing. Forcing a bunch of rascally ass kids to learn stuff they don't want to learn while they bully and demean me and make fun of my appearance. It's like being back in high school all over again.

I'm dating this girl. We've been very close with each other for months now, and we're openly very serious about each other.
Lately she's a little off, though. Keeps taking ages to answer my texts, even though she's continously popping in and out of Facebook chat. Asked her about something serious (but unrelated) this afternoon and she did the same thing. Yet the moment I sent "nevermind, got it already", she instantly got on and said "sorry didn't see it". Tired of being ignored for the nth time, I asked her how busy she is, and again no more response for hours. Checked the Facebook chat after a while, and guess who's busy talking to someone else again?
This isn't normal, is it? What's my best option here? Should I ask her about it, let her know that I know or at least confirm what I think I know? Sit things out and enjoy the hurt?
