Let me reaffirm that last statement: There are better pianists out there than Lang Lang, just as there are far better singers out there than Adele or Taylor Swift. But they have "it". They have some sort of charm and in some way or another, they were the ones who managed to become famous.
So, /adv/...how do I put myself out there and show the world what I got?
You know, I've always considered doing comedy paired up with my piano playing skills (Search victor borge to know what I am talking about). That seems like a good way to show myself off.
What do you all think?

Maybe there's more to life than showing people what you've got? Look at Chris Cornell, he realised exactly the same thing. In the long run it did him no favours. Leave it to the money, it doesn't make any difference to them.

In my junior year of highschool, i have an elevenyear old brother who seems to be a bit babyish for his age. He still throws tantrums, even with friends over, and he gets scared of safe to say almost anything, and throws a crying fit trying to make others feel sorry for him. I or a parent are still forced to sit in his room at night and make sure he falls asleep because he is afraid of the dark. I understand being scared, but I don't think this is a good way to deal with it.
He also does not help out much with daily chores, and spends much time playing video games or watching tv. The few times he does help out is when there is a reward involved, either electronic time or by parents giving special attention for being 'a good helper'. I am worried that once school starts back up again, my parents will become stressed with daily house chores, because they both work day jobs, and I have an afternoon job right after school. Usually i do dishes and laundry and any tidying up needed, but i dont want them to do these things, they dont have the time.
Also speaking of school, my brother seems to have issues with doing homework. He seemingly constantly needs to be reminded to do his homework, and it is usually done AFTER playing on electronics. When he does do homework, he almost always has his mother 'helping' him with it, by this i mean she pretty much answers the questions for him, and he just writes them down. She is not looking for him to score perfectly, its just that he starts throwing a fit that he doesn't understand the question, and he physically cries over it, and she feels she needs to give him answers.
I want to tell my parents these things, that it seems they are feeding him unearned attention, but I dont want to appear corrective of other peoples mistakes. This pisses them off. i realize i have major problems in my head too, but i have been taking medication and forcing lifestyle changes on my own to fix this. Should I tell them how I feel about my brother?

When should I care?
Whenever there's ANY kind of situation, group work, anything you can think of, I have two modes. Either I care or I don't.
I don't know which one to choose at any moment. If I care about the outcome of the situation, it annoys the CRAP out of my teammates/friends/whoever the hell I'm nearby. Their response to my effort is, "Calm down" or "Take it easy" or "It's not that big of a deal", and it's so fucking annoying because after thinking back on the situation I realize that others are going to see me as someone with insecurities and issues.
Now when I don't care, I'm the bad guy. Some people are tense, some aren't. Only one guy is tense, and everyone isn't but if I were to say "Calm down" or "Take it easy" or "It's not that big of a deal", I'm the biggest douche in the whole planet and I need "Help".
How the hell people can properly choose whether to care or not is beyond me. But whatever mode they choose, they're declared a Hero, someone they can look up to, and is backed up with support.
So /adv/ what the hell do I choose and when? Every day I deal with this dilemma, and I get it wrong every time. I don't think I'll get the answer here, but shit anything helps.
