I hate going outside living in Los Angeles because traffic stresses me out. I can think of places I like going to but the drive there and the crowded parking lots makes me not even want to bother with it.
I like forests, open roads and cool weather. I went on a trip to Oregon last year and I never felt that free in my life!
All my friends and family live in Los Angeles, though. I want to live in Oregon and start at a community college, but I struggle with anxiety and depression and I'm afraid to make the move. I'd be all alone up there and I'm worried I wouldn't make friends. But on the flip side, living in Los Angeles makes me miserable and I don't enjoy it one but except at night time when everyone is off the road

i grew up in oregon and lived in LA. they both have their charms. I love city life, but i do miss how relaxing it could be to just be outside and have people not talk pretentiously every day, and oh look parking.

I know this question is a combination of dumb, pathetic and creepy, so go ahead and make fun of me. I had a girlfriend who recently passed away. The last time I saw her we made out in her car. Since her death I haven't washed the clothes I wore that time, like there was something left on them from her and If I washed it it would go away. She touched them, but would there really anything left, like a fingerprint, sweat, smell or whatever really. I know this sounds fucked up, and it would lift a heaviness from my chest if I knew there was nothing left and I can move on. It's been 35 days by the way.

I need advice on what to say to this qt 3.14 at this arcade/lazer tag/go kart place near me. I played games with the construction crew I'm working with last week, me and her smiled at eachother and laughed at some jokes the crew made.
I haven't had sex in a couple years and I'm not good at talking to grillz. I'm not ugly though. Yesterday I got up the courage to walk to her work to ask her out. I assumed when I got there she would ask if I wanted to ride the go karts or say hi or something. I'd say "I didn't come here for games this time, I came to see you. You're cute and I really like your personality, can i buy you dinner or take you to a movie or something when you get off?" Except her coworker said she wasn't there, she just got off. I had asked if she was there, I had told him I thought she was cute and I was gonna ask her if she wanted to get dinner or something. He said said he would let her know i stopped by.
Now I want to go back but it seems akward now that she's probaly expecting me. I wish I just asked him to give her my number. I've never successfully asked a girl out b4. Any advice? What do I say now? I'm only in town for one more week on work, but I only live an hour and a half away.

I don't know how much money you make but when I lived there I was essentially working 50 hours a week JUST to be able to afford to live in the city. No vacations, no time off, just a constant barrage of upper-middle class white kids who look down at me even though their rich mommy's and daddy's pay their entire way through life. Honestly, angry cab drivers and shitty old china-town shop owners were a relief to be around compared to the city kids.
The locals hate everyone. The place is turning into an overpriced rat trap and its taking on a "dog eat dog" attitude that didn't exist 20 years ago. Essentially, its a great place to live if your mom and dad pay your rent or you're just "hanging out" through your 20's. Its a terrible place to start a life. You'll never be able to buy a house, you'll never be able to afford starting a family and chances are your ass will be gentrified all the way to Sacramento before you even get a chance to enjoy the actual good parts of the city buried underneath a metric fuck-ton of pretentious hipster garbage and tech industry transplants. I'm assuming you're in tech because the tech boom is what started the price gouging in SF and is, naturally, the most hated class of people in the bay area.

Hey /adv/. Male 19. I want to some feedback on something I did. I don't want this to be too long but I need to explain a few things.
I became really good friends with a classmate. I ended up falling for her really hard but I decided not to be a Beta and dated another girl. All was well but I broke up with that girl and my classmate talked to me a lot after that. My classmate actually admitted she has ulterior motives for me.
I didn't know what that meant and I decided not to wait around. I went and had a casual fling with a girl in my hometown during the summer and my classmate had a strange reaction. My classmate wanted to know her name, how much I liked her, and if she would come up again in the future.
I reminded her it was a casual fling and she calmed down. She hasn't messaged me for three days... which is odd since she practically blows up my phone everyday.
Did I make her jealous or something? Should I text her and ask what's up? I don't want to lose my friend, as weak as that sounds. I liked hanging out with her.

long story short, about 8 years ago i used to be the girly girl cheerleader type/ upper class suburban america yaddah yaddah
the whole time i hated how i dressed/acted so i quit cheerleadering and hung out with the artsy type kids in high school
i fit in so well and finally felt like i had found a place in life.
half a year ago i got a septum piercing and i loved it. i ended up taking it out because my parents relentlessly mocked me for it and called me trashy and all sorts of bad shit.
all my friends have tats/piercings/ some with dyed hair and of course we only really ever exclusively dress in dark colors
my friend is in a band and signed to a record label and every time i go to see him perform i get mocked by my parents for liking indie/alt type music
basically, they keep mocking my friends/me for how they look and what they do and i'm sick of it. i always tell them to stop but it doesn't do much
i'm a pretty successful fashion designer, working towards my MBA now and it still pisses me off that something as simple as my clothes/piercings get to my parents like that. hell its not like i live in their basement.
how do i get them to stop? grandparents are same way.
