I support a few artists on Patreon. A lot of them post lower-res versions of stuff publically so it's not like i'm missing anything if I decide not to pledge, but I like high-res quality.

used to, don't have the funds to do it now. I really liked erotibot's rewards, step by step walkthroughs and layered PSDs of his final pieces. Norasuko was another favorite of mine.

I used to support two artists.

The first one burnt me on a piece I paid for. He never did it, said he "has a mental block" and kept my money. 150 bucks down the drain just because some spaz "lost his smile" that was 3 years ago and he still hasn't rediscovered his rainbow or whatever faggy shit artists think make them wanna draw big tittied cartoon sluts for cash.

The second one I gave 25 to with another 25 after i the piece was finished..he drew me a sketch and said he wanted the rest, I said when it was finished, thats not fucking finished...then I learned he was tracing someone elses shit. He never finished the piece.

SO long story short fuck artists they can starve.

Pinups, bondage. Stepping out of the norm and doing something like bestiality is welcome. I love drawing well known characters, but interpreting OCs is also always really fun for some reason.

I use to follow DuckDraw if only for the guaranteed sketch slot since that was the only way of getting porn from him. I would have really loved to commission the man but he seems to be a busy guy.

Yeah. About 50 bucks worth spread among about a dozen artists. Most are just tip jars for streamers.

I do it a lot. Its easier to make a living off commissions in third world shitholes than it is here. Yeah, the language barrier can be an issue but every foreign artist I've dealt with has made the extra effort to understand me, and vice versa. Good experiences all around.

I wouldn't say its much cheaper. I WOULD say that its more common to find "professional" foreign artists that do comms primarily. So consistently open and good quality while being not super expensive. In the west, its very hard to support yourself off comms alone, so a lot of artists only take comms sometimes but spend most of their time working on comics, their websites, patreons, etc. In third world shitholes they can charge reasonable prices, and live just off a couple hundred ameribucks in comm income a month.

Not counting people just comming for extra beer money of course.

As for suggestions, I would just say to keep your eyes out. Every foreign artist I've found has been found in different ways. Catching them streaming on piczel/picarto, or doing requests here, or finding them on pixiv, or seeing them reblogged on tumblr, or whatever.

The best way to find artists, period, is to just keep looking for them. I've spent the last year keeping an eye out for any artist that I can find that I like, and found lots. But I started out wanting to comm and having no one. Now I have to fight myself every month because I know so many and would spend way too much if I let myself.

If you want cheap, the only real option are people like in these threads, OR finding artists that are just getting into the comm game, and way undercharge. I've gotten 60 dollar comms for 20 bucks. I tipped them another 20, but I sitll came out way ahead.

Best suggestion I could give is to look around. Search kinks that you're into ontl tumblr, hf, and the likes. And just look. Search every few days, new artist are always popping up. Most people simply don't look hard enough to get good deals.

I don't really use tumblr. How do you use it to find artists for stuff you like? Is there a way to search for porn of specific characters rather than just fan art?

Tumblr's search system is wonky. See you can tag your photos with tags for yourself and others to find categories on your own tumblr's personal search.

However if you are on the tumblr dashboard and are going to search for something, like a fetish, when someone tags something on their post, only the first 5 tags appear in the main search, and the following tags are only used for the personal search on your own tumblr.

So tag wisely and people can find you.

Well he was great at first, then he put a lot of detail into his work and people loved him for it. Then he suddenly slowed down...

1 month for comics became 5 months. Then 5 months became a year between producing while still charging a pay site, then he started taking commissions to make up for the decline in comic subscribers...then he did a few for me and a few others and then just stopped...

Santystuffs was quick and friendly and affordable, got a nice Tharja off of him and then a Pearl Fey he gave me with a free cum-version and didn't mind redoing the eyes on the finished project when I thought they looked a touch off.)

Shaky lines work with your Bubblegum sample, but with Bonnie, the cross hatching is super distracting and works against your lines. Consistency in that would really help the piece and your style. Pic related has shoddy lines, but steady hatching helps it out.

Group scenes might be an issue just because the time investments exponentially shoots into the stratosphere when you have to realistically arrange many characters.

Nothing to do with that at all, just a matter of time needed to render many characters under coherent lighting grows disproportionally to the amount of characters involved. Not sure if that makes sense to you but it's something you'll learn once you try to render characters in a lifelike setting. Takes a fuckton of time because the light bounces and interacts and stuff, and so do the shadows.
