Have there been many steps made in globalizing this as a full bonafide category? I still see that many boorus and hentai databases still lack the tag/term 'shortstack', and those that do have it only have very little content assigned to the tag.

I got a few theories on why Boogie's upload quality keeps shifting around.

1. He does not care about the image quality of his releases.
2. Le epic trollface/NEVER EVER im so funnay xD
3. He wants patreon money so he paywalls his source files so anyone who wants quality images will have to pay for them.

I love his works, but he triggers my image quality autism to no end. I almost would pay his patreon for the source files if I didn't want to play Russian roulette on whether the older source files are available and I don't want to have to pay for photoshop either.

A nice alternative, but ultimately this can slightly alter the works and after some point it cannot increase the quality of the pic. Best way to see is is to take some small pixel art and increase it 4x. Waifu2x ends up just rounding the square edges and any higher scaling just slightly smoothes those big squares.

Ultimately I guess none of this really matters unless he starts just releasing his works as vector art. 1080p is the current standard for video image quality and we can expect 4k here in several years. Once sony releases their patent deathgrip on that new screen tech, everything under 2kx2k is going to look like an icon.

I think there is a point where image resolution won't matter much cause at some point you don't need to zoom in any further. I find images that are 4k and above pretty much work just fine cause you have to zoom in at absurd levels before you start seeing the pixelation and blur. I wish Boogie would actually get that website he said he was gonna build so at least he can upload everything to one spot and not have to resize it for 4chan or tumblr or whatever.

We could use some creativity in these parts. I think the worst offenders are the impfication art. They are basically just midna recolors with nothing unique going for them. At least with yordles you can get some fun out of them with unique clothing, but impfications just have boring tattoo patterns and imp ears.
