So. Princess Trainer Gold Edition is out! Hooray!
Let comrade Akabur rest from this truly immense labour. And me and Xaljio will put more effort into Iris Quest.
Something playable will come your way (taking short views) by the summer's beginning. A playable prologue or already a complete part one of the game? We're not completely sure, not to jinx it.
What's already known, Iris Quest will not be a Princess Trainer 2, nor a full scale spin-off.
We will try to keep what was good in the series, but add more cool stuff. In a way, it'll be an alternate version of Trainer universe. It takes place after PT, but our Iris never worked in brothel and (at the game's start) start she and the Genie are (for now) just friends. I guess the reasons are understandable. Iris from PT is a fully revealed char. And we want to write a new destiny for this interesting character.
Our Iris will suddenly have to explore the job of a slave huntress. And this, trust us, is not gonna be a boring or easy job!
Other known chars will also change. Genie will turn from the protagonist to the heroine's mentor and will get back some of his magic powers. And old Maslab is just pretending to be that simple. Regardless, what old or new chars would appear in Iris Quest and no matter how it changes, we will do our best so the game doesn't lose the charm and lightness integral to the series.

Akabur turned the only decent female character, Azalea, into yet another whore. Azalea was a hard worker who ran a legitimate business until Akabur made her sell her body. I know that PT:Gold is a game about forcing women into prostitution, but what made Azalea special was how different she functioned in her environment.

Azalea was one of three attractive female characters (the others being Rose and Lola) that you couldn't buy love from. Azalea acted considerably less insufferable than Lola, and was not nearly as provocative as Rose. Azalea being my—and plenty others, I would assume—waifu had less to do with her physical appearance and more to do with the quality of her character and the inability to fuck her.

Does anybody care about Dahlia? Dahlia is the quintessential jaded prostitute that everyone has laid. Dahlia is attractive, but there's nothing particularly interesting about her. Comparing Azalea to Dahlia in Princess Trainer Classic is not fair, I know, but in Gold I believe it is a fair comparison. Azalea becomes more trash you flippantly discard. The quality of Azalea's character, also discarded.

You don't have to follow the B quest path, I know. But the sheer existence of that quest path greatly diminishes Azalea as a likable character. In some alternate universe, Azalea's knowledge and craftsmanship is useless. What's the point of even having a clothing shop at that point? Azalea might as well start working at the Phoenix or open a rival brothel. Why should she create some complimentary goods, clothes, to go along with her main product, sex? Maybe she doesn't want to pay Jafar's brothel permit fee? So something internally there needs to change. You should have at least had enough content to do a demo at this point, and if you don't then you are obviously failing at the basics. And instead of working to fix that, you're all over the place and can't trim unnecessary things and want all or nothing, when your all isn't obtainable and so all you're left with is nothing.

First of all you know fuck all about the development of the mod, and secondly the majority of the character art is done which is why I'm working on costumes and additional poses that are required. The mod is worked on in the spare time of people who work full time, and for various reasons we've been without a writer working on the project for months at a time. That particular problem should no longer be an issue. Also, for several months I barely worked on the project as a result of my mum's health because I was spending the time I would normally spend on the mod visiting her instead as for all we knew she only had months to live. Thankfully her treatment was very successful and she seems to be in the clear.
