My pal posted her in the last thread, but here's another pic of my oc, Queen Fraxi, with some casual clothes. Here's a bit more banter about her

She rules over an alien race that's being ravaged by a disease that threatens to push them to extinction, so she takes a few hundred thousand people to space to avoid the illness and find a new home planet. Lots of alien politics and space combat and such going on in her story, which eventually leads to her making first contact with humanity and their race kinda integrating with human culture a bit.

She's also got a good mate named Daxtra but no drawings of em yet. They're a pretty good couple, Fraxi tends to handle economics and relations, while Daxtra is more focused on military and space.

Oh look. Me again. I guess I'll throw in some exposition just for the helluvit.
Willa could be compared to Borg from Star Trek, except instead of desiring perfection, she mostly wants peace via converting any race she comes across into a fully autonomous and synthetic version of its previous self. Also, she may be compared to a god, as she runs on a somewhat omnipotent multi-dimensional A.I. She's basically in an infinite line of work and endlessly crosses through dimensions in an effort to bring cosmic peace.

She's strictly non-violent and very diplomatic, but if a race/planet wishes not to cooperate, she'll forcefully capture and convert anyone that opposes her.
As for personality, Willa's known for being narcissistic and sees herself as a benevolent and kind ruler, even if her tactics can be very ruthless and non-sympathetic.

So Bunny is a character I made in the /b/ draw threads, and she always constantly requested, I didn't know why but maybe it was cause I was only anon who would do any request even though they were all drawn like shit, but she was pretty popular I guess even if she just constantly requested by two anons requesting her to do shit tons of lewd things, but I kinda later making her in the end.
Later I added another character who was just a grumpy stick man who always goes to jail.
Stickman banged her, got married and have two kids.
Bunny now works as a nurse.
The story is that bunny wore a casino bunny outfit and the ears and tail became a permanent part of her body, like its magic and shit. They're actual working ears and tail.
She can take off the outfit, but not ears and tail.
Aside from that, she loves getting fucked.
She has a very happy go lucky attitude.

Well this was originally going to be colored, but I lost the data twice and my patience went with it.

Kami was originally a romantic-interest character I made in a self-insert zombie story I wrote a while back starring myself. Eventually I realized that the story was dumb as hell (also I got laid so the fantasy was less necessary). Kami disappeared for a while, but I liked the design so I returned to it when I started drawing porn. She was the first girl I ever drew in a tentacle scene. Her general appearence is largely the same, though her personality and backstory are different and she's been "pornified" in terms of body shape.

Kate was an old character too. She was kind of a Punisher ripoff that disappeared when I realized that I was being 2edgy. I tried to do a few more things with her, but she eventually joined Kami as a porn character.

Squishy was an unnamed tentacle monster that just sort of gained a face and personality over time. I was doing a lot of consentacle stuff and he fit the bill quite well and earned a permanent spot as a recurring character.

Oh wow, where do I even begin! the tale is too long for one post so I will just tell the very beggining and continue if people is interested in hearing more.

So, around 2007 I had the idea to make an RPG with cooperation from my friends, more specifically I wanted to every playable character to be designed by each of my friends, I would also create one character for the playable party.

Since I wanted the characters made by my friends to shine the most I decided to focus on making my own as bland and uninteresting as possible. her design would be "very stock RPG hero look" and not much else.

I also though that I needed players to want to use the other characters, so I was like "how about I make her really weak so people wont feel compelled to use her?" and thats how her basic concept was born.

Now with the "she has to be weak" idea in mind, I turned to make her an analog for how it feels to use a Rattata in the Pokemon Mistery Dungeon games, Rattata is my favorite pokemon and i always had one in my team in those games, but it was SO WEAK compared to nearly every other pokemon you can recruit, even if you grind it to a high level and dump every stat increase item on it it will still be so weak. I wanted players to know that feeling.

And so she was given purple hair and red eyes as a tribute to Rattata. that was the first encarnation of RPG girl known. which would then go thru many MANY changes.

The red eyes and the fact that you can't see her ears is a remnant of the Rattata days, also the name "Ammy" comes from those days too, in fact in the game files all her sprite and portrait files are labeled "A_" as a remnant of those days too.

Pic related is an awesome pic Yuwatu made of my OC as a rattata girl as homage of her early concept.

There's way more to say about my OC's origins but thats it for now, if you for some reason wanna know more, let me know.

Usually it just makes me draw faster. It sacrifices some polish for a bit more energy, which can be good or bad. The blurred vision also helps with simplifying shapes too.

But don't worry. I have standards when it comes to my alcohol and it would be way to expensive for me to become an alcoholic.

Okay, the beginnings of the Drone Queen, here we go.

Basically, Queenie started out as something of a blank slate, just a fun character to use as a hammy, silver-age-esque villain whose only real goal was to capture and bang the heroes, a woman as erotic as she is dangerous. It's only after I played with her for a while that she morphed into the galaxy spanning, brainwashing, cyborg-modding despot she is today. Her fetish origins are still there in her outfit and proclivities, but she's become something of a more serious character as time's gone on.

Yeah would be really fun to do a collab, but I also don't have the free time I used to have 8 years ago, I miss those times.

Even back then it took me from 4 months to a year to finish a game because I liked to put a ton of dialogue in them. I am a fan of the "Tattle" feature in the Paper Mario games where you can get descriptions of every enemy, NPC and location in the game at the press of a button so I always implemented that in my games, took forever!

Even during my vacations I would not have enough time to do a game to the level I used to like doing. Growing up sucks...

The hardest part of making a game is mostly the assets, I used spend a painful amount of time editing sprites and tilesets for my games.

Which leads me to a project I hardly started before my old PC bit the dust, it was gonna be me playing with the idea of not caring if the game looks good and just "poorly draw" all the assets. not even in color, use a monochromatic theme for everything to make asset making way faster and just focus on story and characters.

Pic related is a very early proof of concept replacing a few assets with poorly drawn ones in a map (as you see it's really unfinished),

Looking back maybe is a good thing I never finished it.

Her name's Vega and she fell out of the sky and landed in a biker church, so they think she's an angel or something...she has no memory so they take her in and nurse her back to health...then she goes around the neighborhood taking out gangs and shit since she discovered she's good at fighting.

Also she technically is an angel...half angel half demon and is a futanari...explaining all that is really complicated and her story is better in small doses since it's long and I've not worked it all out yet, just bits and pieces.

Like, Dragon Age Origins was made entirely with the Neverwinter Nights map maker first as a proof of concept before Bioware even started making the real game.

Experimentation is never a bad thing. And as far as things taking time, yeah I get it, I started off college in game design before I realized I hated the chair of that department so I switched to illustration.

Really sometimes it's about working smarter, not harder, but when it gets down to it, I'd rather take the time making the assets than put out something I wouldn't be happy with. But yeah, I'll probably start thinking about this a lot, just to give me another project to play with, maybe I'll even take the ideas here.

I just was a freak to not use stock assets, I am not an artist but I always wanted my RPG maker games to be as personal as possible. so I always edited my own assets even if they looked terrible.

Also I am a hack, I make up the entire game as I make it, which is why i usually first make assets and then come up with something to do with them. I dont plan ahead at all

Not gonna lie, Venna happened because of a book I read. The main antagonist was called "The Tyrant" and he was a really powerful mage trapped in the body of a child by the overprotective father of his ex-girlfriend (who dumped him when he got stuck in a thirteen-year-old kid's body). I liked the idea, and I liked Elven necromancers, so I just sorta smashed the two together.

Note: she's actually 200 years old in an 18 year old body, I jut suck at drawing ages.

An easy trick for age difference is just adjusting distances between facial features...more space between the eyes, nose and mouth will look older...also stronger jawlines...longer neck...more of an hourglass shape...longer torso.

Axe-kun and his mom were originally developed when, out of nowhere, I decided I was going to make a short animation based off of Freudian psychology titled either "Sunset Girl and Despair Boy" or "From Your Beyond". Unfortunately I had no prior experience and the overwhelming angst ended up making me lose motivation for the project, so I scrapped it.

Axe was originally some kind of damaged Catholic boy struggling to mediate between his id and his superego, so you'd see him constantly switching between the real world and a distorted "sunset world" in which his unconscious drives and his paranoia take over. His mom was part of that "sunset world", appearing as a younger version of herself who Axe unwittingly falls in love with (yay Oedipus complex). After even more 2deep4u imagery, Axe decides he's had enough and hangs himself. There's definitely more than that but I won't bore you folks with it unless asked.

So, uh, I think I'm justified in deciding to trash the thing.

Also expect some silly comic strips from me in a few days. I've gotten ideas from reading the threads and laughing to myself about them, but I haven't had time to draw them out.

My favorite thing about OCs is not much about the character itself but the things behind it, what led it to be that way.

Axe-kun for example is a very simple concept in paper, but is facinating to hear why it was concieved to begin with and how its actually an idea that evolved over time. A design can be simple but if you stop and ask the whys of the small details on it sometimes theres a very interesting tale behind it. (which is why I love the current writer's challenge! got bless the anon that thought of it.)

And you're welcome! just as I said like to take note of the whys and hows of OC development. probably because I can't make interesting things myself. My OC is bland as she can be but nearly every detail on her not very detailed self has a little tale behind it, everything except her boots. Because they are just boots...

Halfling creatures have always been a thing of mine ever since I read The Fairie Queene by Edmund Spencer. One of my favorite character was a satyr named Rayne and symbolized the extent of nature's power over forces of evil. I thought that sort of symbolism was cool, so I latched on to that in making my own character.

I wanted Simmer to embody the theme of adolescent uncertainty. He's anxious and timid about almost everything, and doesn't neccessatily evoke a noticeable prescence other than his appearance. But it also wrangles with the nature his draconic side he tries to keep in check: greedy, lustful, harsh, angry, ferocious, etc. Besides making him a trap (just solely for fetish fuel), I wanted his appearance to carry a physical manisfestation of the dichotomy, looking like something on the surface, but being the exact opposite in essence. Feminine appearance to his actual sex, dark skin to white scales, and a cute but unassuming face to the struggles he keeps in his head. He's unsure of what he is, what he wants to be, and how exactly he's going to end up in the future. A lot of Simmer's character has changed recently, but I still hold this to be a major key in his development.

Most OC's wouldn't pass the silhouette test, so it's not just yours.

Basically, take a bunch of OC's and line them up, but only their silhouette and see if you can tell who is who...it'll be super hard because most people tend to focus more on colors than body features to make their characters.

Yeah the silhouette test is hard to pass but the alternate clothes one is a bit easier to overcome, and I dont think my OC could be recognizable even merely with different clothes. people tend to put a lot of work in the hairstyles of their OCs to make an easy recognizable feature.

Now I kinda want to put a bunch of OCs from these threads in silhouettes and have people try to guess who is who, now that would be intereating! I thing a fair share here have recognizable ones.

Here's my own OC, Maerel.
She's a young, newly sworn knight, wandering the realm to acquire glory and fame. She's brave and proud, idealist, and skilled with a sword.
Being the last daughter of nobles parents, and then a squire in knightly order when she followed her little girl dreams, she spent most of her life sheltered from the world, which along with her principles and her inexperience can affect her judgements and tend to have her end in... delicates situations that may end in explosives, messy, or explosivly messy ways. It also result inexperience on whole others matters, and her getting easily flustered on such situations...
She's also a redhead.
