Honestly? Lil of column A, lil of B. The larger United Systems are relatively 'don't give a fuck how, just accomplish what we ask you do', but the smaller teams like the Starchaser crew are actually pretty chill and would prefer to just get the shit they came for and bounce, no harm no foul. If that means working something out with the locals to keep them chill, then whatever. Most search and resource collection teams are like that, really. Less hassle.

well, no.
slavery is outlawed in all places worth discussing, the group that could afford na'vi slaves would be ridiculously small (and perhaps nonexistent in a not to far future considering the state of Earth).
They also had no way of transporting the na'vi since the cryostatis-chambers would be too small and na'vi would probably die quickly if they ever got to Earth.
There's no way they would be able to turn a profit.

What they actually should have bet on was to uplift and integrate the na'vi into normal human society. This would probably take a very long time but the na'vi are shown to be initially open to at least send their kids to a human school. Of course this also assumes Eywa doesn't stop it since it doesn't want it's subje... children to be uplifted.

Speaking of former Covenant members, imagine the sheer shock it is for alien species who were formerly enemies with humanity to see how quick humans are to befriend former enemies. Doesn't even have to be just about Halo series aliens. Think of how funny it'd be for the aliens that were at war with humans a couple years ago suddenly find humans interacting with them on friendly terms or trying to befriend them. They'd think it was some species wide trap until they found out humans are being sincere. Then they'd just find our species has even weirder. He only really did work on the first alien. It's also the only movie where he was paid for his work on the alien design even though the design is used in all the movies. The queen was all done by James Cameron and Stan Winston. On alien 3 he was hired by Fox to make a new design and made one but was told to fuck off because they already had their own idea of what they wanted the alien to look like. The design they ended up using was almost identical to the one Giger designed anyway.

Mostly you seem to be doing okay. It might be hard to not have a relationship be a bit creepy/rapey until maybe they can talk and the humans can deal with being mortified they accidentally a religion.

Of course, there's plenty of animist and polytheist religions where the gods have their status because they ate a special fruit or they possess special secrets or whatever. So it can be that even after learning it's all just crazy advanced machines, as far as the aliens are concerned humans are still bona fide gods, just now it's easier to identify with as individuals so they only drop into the really formal behavior when beseeching some godly act.
