saw this in Heavy Metal back in 1984. Just got a copy of it, thought I'd share.
This is pretty good

We had a God-tier Frank Thorne thread here back in June:
Definitely check it out and save all you can. Hard as all fuck to find decent scans & other copies of his art.
Dear OP --
Today, you were no faggot. Thank you!
Any & all Heavy Metal &/or Frank Thorne that anyone has ... share would be most appreciated. I already posted all the Frank Thorne I've got in that desuarchive link. Might bump back here later with the very little bit of classic Heavy Metal I've got tucked away somewhere (if I can find it). But, it would just be reposting what I grabbed from /aco/ a year or so back.

Her thong needs that lace frill because otherwise it would look exactly like her bush.
>>1608514
thanks senpai! Do you know if Frank Thorne did any other art for Heavy Metal? Between archive.org (has incomplete copies of 1984 unfortunately) and a few torrents, it seems I can get a lot of Heavy Metal, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

>if Frank Thorne did any other art for Heavy Metal?
Yeah. Thorne was a semi-regular. Don't know where to get a list of which issues he appears in, though. Would have to go through each issue page by page and look for his stuff.
But, any Heavy Metal you D/L, feel free to post select images & stories that you feel should be shared. I certainly would appreciate. I like the "adult" portion of /aco/ ... doesn't have to be porn so long as the art & story quality is superior.
If you're looking for REQ, would be fun to see Den. Been years upon years since I read through those. But, anything, especially from the old classics would be welcome.

This is a repost, of course, from the early weeks when /aco/ started. Really hasn't been enough of this.

No, I don't which issue this is from.
I can't find any more Frank Thorne except 1984 here: http://www.heavymetalmagazinefanpage.com/hmlist.html
Maybe he was publishing under another name?

Lagash is from November 2006: November - Vol. 30 No. 5
>p.70-77 - "Lagash" - Songgu Kwon

My bad. I mis-remembered. Because of Lann, I thought I'd seen some of his other work in Heavy Metal ... but seems that's probably wrong. He published in other places:

Shame he wasn't a regular in Heavy Metal, even if it was only a single page once in a while.
>>1612629
Thanks. I figured someone would know, or find it quick enough. I was being lazy.

This guy really liked Serpieri, didn't he? Cool layout idea though, hadn't seen one like that before

I guess that guard in the top left either has a bitch of an itch or gets off on executions.
Good job guys, I always hope to see actual comics and not just images on /aco/. It might not be the best writing and plot but whatever, better than most the threads on here.

Oh well, time to fap I guess

Does anyone know where I can find the "Den" comics? You know, the "John Carter of Mars" parody with a ton of nudity?
>>1629718
It's in Heavy Metal, in several years. You can find the specific issues here: http://www.heavymetalmagazinefanpage.com/hmlist.html
I've got a torrent of it going right now, I'll post it as soon as I extract the pages (might need to make a new thread, there is a lot of it.)
Is Frank Thorne the archetypal old pervy nerd? The art's great, but every picture of him from the days he was drawing this shows clearly that Thenef and Shard are really idealized self-inserts of a fat guy who looks seventy and it kinda fucking creeps me out t b h.
>>1629718
Den was published in trade paperback not terribly long ago, should be scans of those floating around if you can't be arsed to buy a copy. Personally I can't stand Corben's art.
>>1630449
>Is Frank Thorne the archetypal old pervy nerd?
Aren't we all?
>no, I'm a young pervy nerd
lol okay

Dumping Den from 1977 Heavy Metal now.

Wow, thank you so much! Did not expect that, how kind of you, thanks.

np senpai
So I have a small request. Does anyone here have Heavy Metal Volume 36 Issue 2. It was printed in May 2012. It is also known as the 35th-anniversary edition. In return, I will be happy to post another request if anyone wants one.
>>1630459
>Aren't we all?
I'll be honest, I tend to think of myself as a nerd but when I see shots of greasy magic-playing horrors or wrecks like Thorne I realize I'm not, or at any rate there's a scale and I'm way over on the shallow end where you're just a normie who likes Batman.
>>1630562
Hmm, that one it seems I don't have. My torrents stop one edition before that.
>>1630585
Oh well. Yea, this one has been hard to find. Thanks for trying though! :)
>>1630574
What's the text in panels 2-3? Does anyone know?
(Thanks for dumping, postbro)
Dumping Den from 1978 now (32 more)
Den II dump, starting with 1981 (24 pages)
1982 is 56 more pages, I'll start dumping that in a bit... what's the post limit on this board though? We're at 210r/187i... might need a new thread.
>>1630858
dumping Den II, 1982 now.
I'll create a new thread for Heavy Metal if we run out in this thread.
dumping Den, 1983 and 1994

Thank you so much for this! I get it that some folks aren't crazy about the art, but I'm on this for the nostalgia ride. Last time I read through this, 4chan hadn't even been invented. And, I don't mind the art. It is what it is, and it reflects the era it was published very well. Nice pulp porny fantasy psychedelic weirdness, a great classic.
bumpin' so everyone gets a chance to save these
awesome uploads
