Rogue-like's character could be Leech. An actual character from the X-men comics(and also featured in the movie).
Some series could lend themselves to use OCs muh better than others. For example, that proposed Totally Spies trainer from a while ago was perfect using a new guy rather than Jerry(?) because it was like a natural change to the status quo.
