I think basically every anime that has gone for a tokusatsu aesthetic has flopped in recent years. It doesn't seem like there's much crossover between the audience that buys toku stuff and the audience buying anime blu-rays.

Back in the days, SoL series had effort and production values, but since some super simplified SoL became a hit, everyone thought that "hey guys, we can just make no budget, low effort shit if it's a CGDCT adaptation, and it will be a hit too", and these shows have become the worst looking shit ever. No unique feel to them, the low effort is painfully easy to spot in either titles.
No wonder otaku don't give two flipping shit about them either.
