Is he the best writer in the industry?

He can't really do "good" endings, and I heard Billy Bat was underwhelming. I plan on reading it to see for myself though.

it's not about the destination, anon, it's about the journey
>>162083448
No. He has major pacing/structure issues and often gets too convoluted partway through.

>it's about the journey
But if the journey ends on an underwhelming note then that just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I think he's a great writer, and every work of his that I read so far I've loved, but he's not the best and that's okay. I don't really there's a best mangaka out there anyways.

I think he's really great at world building, character building and overall atmosphere/storytelling for sure.
His works are quite melodramatic though, not exactly a flaw, but it's significant enough to the point where it's noticeable.

The ending is underwhelming, but its still good, especially the last few pages. Though the manga as a whole is everything but underwhelming, the hype is real for the whole time.

I don't even know him.
anime are all adaptions

What.
Yes, he is indeed.
He's really bad at sticking the landing. I can't think of a single Urasawa manga with a satisfying ending. Asano is 10 times better, not just in writing but in composition too.
Or like... Yuureitou - much more shlocky but had a more satisfying wrap-up than Urasawa's stuff while maintaining compelling characters and mystery.

I'd say Inoue is better
