Setsuna is not an anime character until the Elimination Chamber plot was kickstarted, and even so she's just background character. Even someone with Holopsicon can overlook that minor but important detail.

I'm no even clear what happened. I thought when Setsuna was commiting suicide again that Altair was using her holoscpion bullshit to change reality to switch places with her so setsuna would stay in the real world and altair would die, but that's obviously not happened.

He brought her back to life using Magane's uso no uso making him the only match for hime. This is different from the other creations who can stay there just fine, but Setsuna still being alive is a direct violation of this, even if she follows the same rules of the world (not being extremely OP like the creations). She also respects Setsuna's wish not to kill everyone and punish them.
