Once they go to kill the dragon the story stops being shit. Current arc is the best so far. We came a long way from denying Nanking.

Haven't read it since the anime aired. Maybe I'll go back.

People stopped talking about it because releases have slowed to an absolute crawl. One chapter every other month or so.

I've only watched the anime and tried to read it afterwards. I feel odd because I don't exactly know where to pick it up after.

The anime in general had the worst designs of every character. None of the women look like they work in the military beyond being secretaries or cock sleeves. And all the beastkin become generic catgirls. I know the LN supports this one but I honestly prefer how the manga makes them actual beast people. ANd actually introduced a better spectrum of how much fur:human features that were seen across characters.

The manga may have superior designs to the anime, but its still way behind in plot so there's really nothing to discuss with it. Just look at the pretty pictures then move on. If it ever catches up to the anime, I bet the threads will become more interesting again.

Hm. But I think she is among the few people apart from Pina that actually *is* fully convinced the JSDF couldn't be stopped or even delayed by anything the Empire does.

She just does NOT want a diplomatic solution (which is obviously what you can see the JSDF is going for if you realize the above). She doesn't even want the world to improve. She only wants the Empire in ashes, destroyed by the JSDF.

So yea, what would it help her to switch sides?

You don't understand, under your plot we would have a "defeat the empire" story. We have a dime a dozen of those. And Jthe author wanted to portray how Japan behaves in a way he understands it, if Japan end up having to go Total War then it isn't Japan as he knows it anymore.

That's not at all true. I didn't say the empire is perfectly equal. But I want more moments like wyvern riders acting as a viable deterrent. This could still turn into a a "defeat the empire" story if the bunny queen's plot goes through which is the real threat here.

Nothing changes in the overall sceme. Japan isn't trying to start a fight in either scenario but possesses significant advantages in things like missile strikes and better vehicles/weapons. The Prince is trying to start a war because of his misguided believes in both scenarios, and that is a problem because legally, if he starts a war Japan will have to retaliate. The only thing that changes is that instead of it being a guaranteed curbstomp there is more of a risk to the Japanese side if a fight breaks out.

This story already reads like military wank that could pass for American as has been pointed out in the past. I just want a more interesting story where the stakes aren't so one sided.
