Nice music and the berserk armor reveal was pretty sweet. Also whoever decided to cast Akio Otsuka as Skull Knight made a good choice because god damn if it's not a good fit.

It's Berserk.
It was held up by its story alone. It's probably one of my favorite anime ever, just because of how much I love Conviction.

Berserk 2016 was my first exposure to Berserk. After 6 episodes, I started reading it. It's absolutely amazing, and the 2016/2017 anime is one of my favorites of all time.

It didn't do a disservice. It wasn't good, but it gave Berserk a lot of exposure, and the manga is selling better than it ever has, compounding with the new Warriors game.
Add this to the fact that, just yesterday, Netflix added the rest of the Golden Age trilogy, and it's safe to say that Berserk is going to get even bigger. It all started with 2016.

Maybe Netflix will make a Berserk adaptation. Only time will tell. Adding the movies shows that they're aware of the potential viewership.

Because the style is incredibly hard to pull off. Live action would be EASIER than trying to match how the Berserk manga looks.
It takes a lot better anime director to make Berserk work than a live action director.

How would they do Griffith though? Actors who are beautiful enough to portray him literally don't exist. They would have to get some male model, but then the acting would likely be lackluster. I feel like Griffith just can't work outside the anime medium.
