Then there's the Tyrant squads; as most of them are killed and their machines salvaged, the fear propagates, with each attacking squad actually meeting their ends at the hands of the Silver Merchants. And the funny part about it is that all of them are supposed to be the elites of Zaloudec. They're still shocked and amazed that there's Knights capable of matching them evenly, first in the form of the Karrdetolles and Edgar's and Di's Customs, but later by the Revantliers. A side-effect of being led to believe their Tyrants were superior.

Every last one that isn't world-building essentials for the condensed plot to progress. All the Knight R&D for Tzendrible onwards was skipped. All the characterizations were minimized. All the world-building extras were omitted.

About the only thing the anime has done right was fleshing out a bit more of Ambrosious when he was younger (short dialogue between Stephania and Duke Dixgard) and showing the tour of Missiler that the Kuchiperican Princess took alongside Chid.

Toybox was Eru's first prototype, and only had 1 conventional Ether Reactor. By the time of the Forest Disaster Arc, Eru upgraded it to carry two conventional Ether Reactors, but the extra output was wasted on the musculature needed to move the heavier unit, thus it resulted in a net zero gain. It's why Eru got more use out of it as a mobile power source for his custom battlewagon, as evidenced during the fight with the Queen.

Ikaruga was built using two custom Ether Reactors as well as using lessons learned from earlier R&D. It can operate without the use of the Behemoth core, but only general walking/running. If Eru needs to enter combat, he has to awaken the Behemoth in order to provide enough power for all the rest of his equipment. Frankly, it's already amazing that the entire body, made up of strand crystal tissue, is capable of being powered by a Hive Queen based core, without the need for any notable battery packs/structures outside of the armor.

Its size and performance is actually very ideal for anti-mecha role. It obviously can't carry any onboard systems, but it just needs beam sabers and a rifle like most general performance Gundams. And unlike most mobile suits, it performs at the top of the class in gravity conditions.

There's no fancy Minovsky Particles screwing up with targeting and electric systems (so bonus to ranged combat), they can fly higher or faster for longer periods, and as far as beam weapons go, they're only limited by the battery packs on their guns (depending on the Gundam; I forget if middle to later UC Gundams can recharge their beam packs in combat without having to store them on recharge racks).

On the other end, Ikaruga can beam spam as long as Eru keeps balancing the mana usage, can multi-lock thanks to having a maximum of 6 arms and weapons in them, and doesn't chase too far into the skies. And the strand crystal tissue probably outputs more power than most Gundam servo motors, so Ikaruga could potentially overpower them in straight melee. Granted, we don't know the extent of forces exerted by the motors/muscles of either side.

As she's the main reason their forces can't move from their current temporary capital, she will have them all mobilize with her. As well, she will use herself as bait to finish buying time for the Silver Merchants to complete their total overhaul of their captured Levitate ship, which will be used in a joint op with Ikaruga to slay the Dragon ship once and for all.

No one has yet created a means to create, sustain, and compress a high level magic spell, much less keep it powered in a bomb-like casing (or at least make it activate and run rampant upon contact or timed activation). The dick-waving contest ended before it ever began. Ikaruga already had six arms. And the only reason they gave the Wizard Robe 6 arms was because they were supposed to mainly stand still, tank, and spam. Heck, some of those sub arms were just salvaged or cannibalized from other Resvants in order to save some time, with Tyrantor parts salvaged and recasted into the Revantliers (Eru's means of getting around a technical tech transfer ban).

Further, there's a sheer difference in pilot skill; though the anime minimized it. The Silver Merchants were trained to be extremely flexible, not only due to their eccentric commander, but due to the unpredictability of Demon Beasts. They not only went head to head with Zaloudec's elites, they beat them back and took their remains. Even with their Dragon ship and their upgraded Swordsman Knight, backed by several armed Levitate Ships and the Tyrantors they carried, they couldn't actually kill Ikaruga nor a single squad. A squad that I might add, is purely outfitted for offense. Zero defensive capabilities aside from the default armor and their pilots' skills. Further, a squad that not only held them back, but actually succeeded in evacuating the fort survivors.

Zaloudec stepped on a sleeping Lion's tail, thinking they were invincible. They had their entire invasion stall and falter by nothing more than a group of irregulars sent by the Lion.
