I don't think that the fact it's targeted at a younger audience, successfully grabs that audience, and is remembered by those who grow up, makes it bad.

I enjoyed seeing light succeed and getting out of dire situations, but I also really enjoyed seeing him get shot and die like a little bitch at the end.
I think it's better to root for nobody and just enjoy what unfolds
