That, and couple of other manga I've put on the shelf for the time being. I decided to make LotGH my lowest priority, since my higher-priority projects don't have prior adaptations. Plus, the latest chapter is 77 or so. I really wish I had another translator for that, but I feel like they should be fans of the anime and Gaiden, and willing to research the wiki and whatnot, to do so, in addition to the challenging difficulty of the text.
These are exceedingly high standards, which is probably why I'm the only translator in my group.

When you're exporting something in photoshop with Save for web, what's the difference between png-8 selective colors and adaptive colors?

selective and adaptive are different algorithims for lowering the amount of colours in an images look up table.

Perceptual
Creates a custom color table by giving priority to colors for which the human eye has greater sensitivity.

Selective
Creates a color table similar to the Perceptual color table, but favoring broad areas of color and the preservation of web colors. This color table usually produces images with the greatest color integrity. Selective is the default option.

Adaptive

Selective is fine, and the pages are still white, and from what I can tell they are no different.

I sometimes run it through one of the DCNN image enlargers. I try with and without noise reduction, do my editing and typesetting, and then reduce it to 1600 px height on export, usually.

You seem to all be missing the point. This person is taking for granted the fact that I did something nice for them. They did not complain about the work prior to this. Nor do they express any gratefulness for the change in order.

The original deal was that they'd redraw stuff, and then the rest of the team would make the chapter. We might not have taken them on if the deal was reversed. They're just trying to take advantage of the opportunity, and that's rude.

I use waifu2x. Though recently they put shitty goolag captcha thanks to chinks so I had to figure how to force koroshell to work on my XP and used w2x code for engagement. It takes 4-5 minutes per images though since "lel AMD/Radeon fuck you".

I redraw using trackpad and it never looks quite right, would it be in my best interest to switch to mouse? Never saw that much of a different when using it.

I got there last time the registration was open and that was like 2-3 years ago, nowadays you'd probably have to ask the re-haruka admin for an invite (and prove you have some 自炊 to upload), he runs both sites
The place has gone to shit now tho, there are barely any 自炊 uploads and all of them are shitty digital raws, old links are long dead, nobody has posted anything in the magazine subforum since haruka shutdown (they didn't have any early raws anyway if you're after those)

I did keep doing it for free for the readers, it has nothing to do with e-peen but the fact that no one else would do the niche works I was doing and I wanted people to read great manga. I still do lettering, but now I do it professionally. Scanlation isn't worth it because if you are decently prolific, it will destroy your life. It's a job that you don't get paid for.

I prefer to redraw the entire thing, then make sure the typesetting covers up any shitty parts. With typesetting first, you have to make everything not covered look good, but if you redraw first, you can eventually give up on that one part that looks shitty and position the text to cover it.
It definitely takes longer, but I think the final result is better.
